- The faculties are top notch.. Every department has some of the best faculties.. The academic side is too good.. Make use of that during your college days and you r good to go.
- The freindships and college life you get here is too valuable..Those memories are some of the best experiences you will ever have in your life.. 5n half years of college life and you will have a lot of real good friends..
Dislikes
- The infrastructure can still improve a lot more.. But it's actually getting better with the recent works that's been happening..
- Another improvement could be about the campus.. As in the campus could have been bigger better.. But once you are there you won't think of that as a negative..
Remarks :
The college is a very old college.. The most important reason was the history and the name the college has.. The accademics in the college is good.. And also the college has tied up with the govt hospital chigateri which is very close to the medical colleges and the students have the luxury of learning from both a govt and pvt hospital at the same time. The bad side to the college can the lack of a proper infrastructure and a proper campus.. But recently the infrastructure has been rebuilt and now that issue doesn't exist anymore.. Also to report there is no airport in the district..
Course Curriculum Overview :
Every department in jjm medical college is really good and that's why it's one of the best medical colleges in karnataka.. I always wanted to be a doctor from my childhood and am happy that I got a chance to study in this prestigious institution. Every faculty is well qualified and updated and is of real help to each and every student.. There are mentorship programs in this college right from first year which is also very good for students. They do conduct exams every month end and 3 internal exams in an year.. These tests really get us ready to face the final exams and to pass with flying colors.
Internships Opportunities :
The college has a mandatory internship program for one year.. This is the time where you learn quite a lot more details about every department rather than what you read in your books.. Also this one year of training helps you gain courage to go out there and work as a doctor.. Every department gives you the opportunity to perform the basic acts that a doctor should know and you will have mostly one month of postings in most departments which will help you have very good experience in all those works.. To mention an example, you get enough opportunities in suturing during your surgery postings and you get to assist a lot of deliveries during your obg postings. Stipend of around 20000 rs is given to govt students whereas management students never used to get stipend back then.. Hopefully that has changed and everyone is getting equal stipend now.. But the experience you get as a junior doctor is worth more than the stipend..
Placement Experience :
There's is no campus placement.. But when u graduate as a doctor you have numerous options and if you want to continue with a pg in India.. Opt for neet pg coaching.. And you have numeroys Instituess there in davanagere offering you the same..
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
When I joined I paid a fee of 425000 per year for 4 years followed by another 2 lakh for the final year.. Now the fee is 11lakh per yaer for 4 years followed by another 5.5lakhs for the 5th (final) year.. The fee applies to students looking for open seats in the management quota.. Whereas karnataka students taking the seat via govt quota can study for a fee of 69,350 rs per year.. Categories like sc, st have the govt reservation and can study for a fee of 69,350 per year and can get scholarships worth 1 to 1.5 lakhs per year which can also cover for their hostel fees..
Campus Life :
We used to have fests once in one and half years.But now the college conducts fests every year around Aug-Sep.It's actually one of the best times of the year where in its 1-2 months of proper entertainment and fun.Students enjoy the fests a lot.Everyone gets great opportunity in every field to express their talents.Talking about the library our college library is talked about as one of the best digital medical college libraries in the whole india.The amount of books there it would take more than a life time to read all those materials.The sports section is top notch.Me myself was part of multiple sports teams of our college.The management and Head of sports section are very supportive.They let us attend every competitive event going around in the state with all travel allowances and attendance for the classes. Socially since each batch has 250 students most of the students have different friends circles and social gtherings in the society used to be good but now it's even better.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel food is one of the best when it comes to other mess foods around in the state.. The hostel is very affordable.. Single rooms come for about 55-60k rent per year.. And food charges of around 120rs per day for mess with good non veg food available.. I would always suggest anyone to start off with the hostel and later if you want to shift out..

The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
