Remarks :
I chose Kasturba Gandhi Degree College for Women for its well-known academic excellence and talented staff. The campus is famous for its immersion in greenery. The admission process was entirely online and solely required your educational and identity documents. They were - 10th Memo, Intermediate memo, Birth Certificate etc.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course as I was pursuing ACCA alongside my intermediate. The faculty is experienced in teaching. Kasturba Gandhi College did not fail to facilitate the students with well-qualified staff, including the Principal. The term exams were timely, even during the pandemic. The difficulty level of the exams is based on the student's perspective. But I can say that they thoroughly prepare you for the final exams. Scholarship opportunities are solely based on caste quotas, which should be worked on.
Internships Opportunities :
I have not opted for any internship since I acted as the placement coordinator throughout the placement drive. But due to my recruitment coordination experience, I was able to land an entry level HR role. The roles that were offered in the placement drive were - Accounts Executive, Process Associate etc.
Placement Experience :
The placements are like any other average Degree college. Companies like Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank visit the placement drives. There is no eligibility criteria. But the high scorers of the college, who consistently keep their score get shortlisted. The percentage of the shortlists would be 15-20% of the total applicants. The minimum package offered is 2.5LPA.
Campus Life :
The classrooms are decent but the libraries should work on bringing in more books, to update with the academic trends. There are various groups for students to participate in such as cultural club, literature club, commerce club, etc. They usually conduct the Annual fest during Feb and March. One thing about Kasturba Gandhi College is that they encourage women to participate in sports such as badminton, kabaddi, throwball, basketball etc. You also get to be a part of NCC & NSS

Students who maintain a good academic record and possess strong technical and communication skills have better chances of getting placed. Generally, students with no active backlogs and a minimum academic percentage as specified by the recruiting company are eligible to participate in campus placements. A few recruiters visit the college for hiring, mainly for entry-level roles in software, IT support, and core engineering domains. However, the number of offers is limited, and only around 40–50% of students secure campus placements. The average salary package offered ranges from ?3–4 LPA, while the highest package varies depending on the company and the student's performance. The college also encourages students to apply for paid internships, which help them gain practical industry experience and improve their technical skills

I am still in my second year, so I havent sat for placements yet. But the college starts preparing us early with coding practice, projects, aptitude training, resume building sessions, and mock interviews. FRom interacting with seniors, I have heard that students who stay consistent with their skills get good opportunities

From the early semesters we are encouraged to build projects, improve our coding skills, and create a strong resume. That gives us enough time to prepare instead of rushing later. The college also shares internship opportunities and guides students through the application process. There are resume reviews, mock interviews, and career sessions that help us understand what companies expect. I feel the support is there throughout the journey, the more effort you put in, the more you can benefit from these opportunities.

From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.

Since I am still a student I haven't gone through the final placement season yet. But from what I have seen the college starts preparing us quite early. We have regular coding sessions, aptitude training, mock interviews and resume building workshops. The placement team also shared internship opportunities whenever they are available. I feel the college is more focused on making students job ready than waiting until the final year. If you stay consistent with your coding, projects and overall skills, you will be in a much better position when placement season starts. Overall I think the college provides good support, but students also need to put in their own effort.

As a current student I haven't reached the final placement season yet but the college has already started preparing us. We get regular updates about internship opportunities, and many students apply from the early semester itself. Along with that there are sessions on resume writing, aptitude, communication skills and interview preparation. The college also encourages us to build projects and improve our technical skills, which helps while applying for internships. I feel these small efforts throughout the course will make a big difference when placements begun.

The syllabus also covers topics that are useful for todays tech industry. The faculty is friendly and easy to talk to. They explain concepts in a simple way, clear doubts without any hesitation, and we are already ready to help if someone is struggling.
