BITS Pilani has now become a proper brand. The best part about this college is merit-based admissions, so your peer groups will be intellectually inclined to you. BITS Pilani is known for its vibrant campuses, amazing campus culture, and close-knit alumni network. As my first year at the Goa campus comes to an end, I have been presented with a plethora of opportunities and my coursework has been hectic but rewarding. I had heard only good things about the college from my seniors when I was preparing for the admission process. BITS is one of the best colleges for overall academic and personal development. I aimed for a great college life when I chose this college, and now I am living it.
The curriculum here is quite stressful. I am pursuing an Economics dual degree course at BITS Pilani Goa Campus. It is solely because it opens up your domain of opportunities not just in the engineering field but also in finance. The Coursework is very well structured and systematically designed to cater to industry needs. We also have hands-on industry experience in our second year itself in the form of internships, which are graded and a part of the BITS curriculum. Exams here happen periodically, with in-class quizzes, periodic tests, and mid-semester, and end-semester examinations. Most of the professors are very good and a lot of academic material has been made available to us by our seniors for self-study as well. Scholarships are offered in the form of Merit and Merit Cum Need, which is a very great opportunity for students to showcase their academic abilities and maximize their chances of availing one. Both of them have CGPA cutoffs.
Not yet, but definitely in my second year. However, a lot of opportunities do come up to take up courses and internships for me even at this stage in my college life. We have consulting groups and independent organizations that help students upskill themselves at the early stages of their college life.
The placement unit and bits train its students from the first year itself. We have internship opportunities (practice school) endowed in the curriculum itself where big companies hire students and offer handsome stipends to them. A lot of our students get a pre-placement offer at their practice school station itself. The placement statistics are promising despite an economic recession. Our placement unit is committed to securing the future of its fellow students. We have great core and non-core placements. The median package for IT/electronics is around 22 LPA and that for core mech/chemical is around 12-15 LPA. We have finance companies that come to hire for PS as well which offer a monthly stipend of Rs. 80-90k. Last year around 90% of students were placed. The startup culture at BITS is great too. I plan on entering the investment banking sector and am pretty sure the college will help me get the best of opportunities for the same.
We have three fests. Waves - Cultural Fest (November) Quark - Technical Fest (March) Spree - Sports Fest (May) The fests are happening with a plethora of exciting events and concerts. We see participants from across the country. Our cultural fest is among the top 10 biggest fests in the country. The infrastructure at BITS is top-notch, with great well-designed lecture halls, classrooms, and laboratories. We have a sandbox lab exclusively for startups as well. Apart from that, we have various food outlets, laundry services, and a supermarket available on campus. We have a student activity center which has facilities for every sport there is including a gym. The food quality in messes is decent. The hostels are fairly maintained. The club and department culture here is amazing. You can explore every hobby/passion of yours be it a performing, tech, or sports club. We have a world-class library with a huge collection and top-notch infrastructure.
I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .
No placement is done here . Placement is done only in MBA programs. .
At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum
Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.
Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.
Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.
Eligibility criteria for placement is 21-22 for the the third year student there is placement after they complete the course the percentage is high so many companies come to our collage and test that they are eligible or not to do work in their company
They also offer on campus placements to crack interview, the eligibility criteria for placement is that you should have excellent Communication skills, and you should clear backlogs, there are 12 recruiters attented for on campus placement and offered a highest package as 8-9 LPA, and lowest package as 5-6 LPA, students who got placements have more than 75%, It's better to have better communication skills to crack an on-campus placement...
On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.
Placements are excellent. Top companies have hired freshers from here . My branch CSE has 100% placement rate and overall all branches have 99% placement rate . Usually students are offered on campus placements so there is no need to go for off campus opportunities
