- Diversity in college is the best thing according to me, u get people from all around India who speaks different languages, u get to learn too much about their culture and rituals. Mallu people are best in terms of language they know malyalam, English and Hindi , they can understand Tamil also thus I prefer u to have a one mallu roomie as he ll be helping u to overcome any language problem or he will talk to others when needed.
- Senior junior connections: seniors here are too friendly, they help u with anything u want or guide u whenever u approach them. One moment will come.when u ll start hanging out with them in most of your times.
- Teams and clubs: if u are part of any team or club like u are part of Festember(one of college fest) team then u ll have movie nights, trips, treats and all along with ur team very frequently.
- College have a shopping complex where u can get whatever u require on ur daily basis, like u get sbi and post office within campus u would have to never compulsoryily go to our of campus due to any work. All ur works can be done here .
- Best campus spreading across 800+ acres. Having all facilities.
- Food served in mess is good unlike other messes of other colleges.
Dislikes
- Remote location of campus: campus is situated in a village i.e, thuvakudi and City is 40km away so u might have to take a bus ride for 40min to reach City . Due to this remote location we miss out on City life experiences.
- Hostel facilities for 1st year boys: there is no water supply for boys hostel neither for drinking nor in bathrooms.
- Curfew timings for 1st years students.which is 10pm
Remarks :
The tag of best NIT of India and Nirf 8(now 9) just after the top 7 iits made me choose this college. With the tag one also gets the best career opportunities and exposure. To get admission i NITT one has to clear JEE mains with a top rank and then must have got this college alloted in JOSAA counselling or CSAB special rounds. I prepared for JEE mains through online self-studies, and I followed YouTube coaching programs provided by various YT channels for free. I majorly followed unacademy jee and unacademy atoms for my preparations. They provided me with all lectures and notes in pdf notes. I attempted the previous year's question papers as mock exams under a set time limit which helped me secure AIR4539, which helped me join the mechanical engineering btech program in Nitt.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I joined mechanical engineering because I was fascinated by automobiles. For 1st year, the curriculum is the same for everyone circuital and non-circuital branch students study the same course which includes basics for the curriculum of upcoming years. The only thing is what circuital branches study in first sem is what noncircuital study in the second sem and vice-versa. After the first year branch related subjects come. Faculty here hold PhD from renounced institutes of the world. In each sem, there are 3 or 2 exams for each subject, which are either cycle tests 1 and 2 or 1 midsem instead of CTs and 1 end sem exam. Exams are easy if one attends and follows classes properly. We have classes from morning 8:30 to 12:10 in the morning on weekdays and we have lab sessions in the evening twice or thrice a week. One problem one might face here is the language barrier because of home. state quota there are 50% Tamil and 20% of Telugu and Mallu people here and most of them don't understand Hindi.
Internships Opportunities :
I haven't applied for any internship currently in my first year, I was exploring clubs and teams in my first year but planning to apply for any internship in my upcoming year. There are fewer internship opportunities for 1st year I guess but from 2nd year I get many many opportunities.to do an internship during sem breaks.
Placement Experience :
Placement stats are good in this college mostly 90% of students get placed 5% of students go for further studies remaining 5% prepare for competitive exams. The college offers a CPC program and IPMP program which helps students to get placements and get internships respectively. Many big companies like Google, Microsoft, Mercedes, L&T,etc come for placement here. 1cr is the highest package offered.
Campus Life :
Life at the campus is awesome, there is something always going on on campus some festivals music nights, or DJ nights or any celebration there may be only 10-20 days on campus when nothing is happening in a semester. There are clubs for every activity, you can just imagine if there is a club for anime and one for stargazing????. There are like 200+ clubs I guess. U can be a part of multiple clubs and teams. Once u come. to college 24 hours of the day will not be.be sufficient for u. Talking about infrastructure doesn't get ACs in classes ???? but there are 16 fans in one classroom for 70 students. In the boys' hostel, first years don't get water in the garnet-a hostel other two 1st year hostels have water.???? There might be some days u have to go to other hostels to take a bath and some months where u have to go to seniors hostels to fetch cold water if u get garnet-a. Wifi speed isn't good in some parts of the hostel luckily my room has the best wifi speed. We don't have washing machines in the first year.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
