- When I joined the college I had loved the first class I attended and how the professor dvelved into the text and made the class interactive, ever since then I have loved every class I've attended, as a literature student I understood how to command a class and how to handle a crowd. I love how our faculty are supportive of us and how they encourage us to study further and pursue a career in literature.
- The one thing I love about our campus is our 3 floored library, it has a study hall and the library itself has a huge space in which we can sit and study. The library' provides us with an ample amount of books from classics to novels to competitive exams, you name it and you have it. There are plenty of genres available and we can take the book home too.
- As I'm a part of the college band, college dance troupe and college theatre team, I've had a great fun with my fellow mates who have the similar taste as me, we practiced late and we won many prizes, we create this beautiful bond. I got the opportunity to perform at various colleges in and around Chennai, I've had the opportunity to perform at IIT, DGV, KCG, SRM, MOP etc. Being a part of the club/ team has enhanced my skills and I've learnt team work, Curation and planning of an event etc.
Dislikes
- The campus is too small, maybe because it's situated in the heart of the city, the campus is a lil small for a college.
- Our department building is quite old and the infrastructure of our department is antique.
Remarks :
I chose this college as it lies in the center of the city, this college has a wide range of courses, there's no dress code, the faculty are highly qualified and the classes are interactive and easily understandable. The Union has 4 teams and 4 clubs, we have the liberty to join these teams/clubs and enhance our skills. The college faculty is quite supportive when it comes to cultural activities and they encourage students to participate in various activities throughout the year. The departments conduct various conferences, seminars, guest lectures, etc. We are provided with various skill-based courses on the campus under E-cell. There are 2 internal exams in one month's interval per semester which keeps us on track with the syllabus and our overall performance.
Course Curriculum Overview :
So, I chose this course as I'm keen on pursuing literature as my career. Upon arriving at Ethiraj and acquiring knowledge from highly qualified professors, I've gotten a clear picture of what to do next. Our professors are PhD graduates and scholars and they've qualified UGC NET. Our professors often guide us on what our next step should be and how we could enhance our skills and knowledge through libraries, the Internet, British Council, etc. Our professors have a very interactive teaching method which helps us understand the test more precisely and we get to witness other perspectives too. We have 6 semesters, each semester has 2 internal examinations and an end-semester examination. 60 marks external and 40 marks internal, we are supposed to present a seminar on any topic for the internal marks and submit an assignment on the same. As we have 2 internal exams in a month's interval, it helps us to keep track of our grades and curriculum. As I'm in the Aided stream, our fees are minimal.
Internships Opportunities :
As I'm a second-year student, I haven't had the chance to apply for internships yet, but the college provides contacts for internships in various reputed firms, like The Hindu, The Times of India, Penguin Publication, etc. The roles are copywriter, content writer intern, etc.
Placement Experience :
The eligibility criteria for placement as per my knowledge is to have a no-arrear track record, plus we're supposed to maintain our GPA at 7. We've had many prestigious companies recruiting from our college like Deloitte, Amazon, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, Citi Bank, Axis Bank, etc. 3 LPA is supposedly the lowest and the highest being 12 LPA.
Campus Life :
Ethiraj is well known for the exposure that it provides, we have 2 major fests, the first one being Aaramb & Maithri which is an inter-department mental event, and the other one being Srishti, the annual intercollegiate event. Other than that we have numerous department events throughout the year. Our college encourages art and sports like no other, we have a separate sports hostel and our college almost always wins in the university tournaments and state and national level tournaments. Cultural: we have 4 college teams and 4 college clubs, which gives us a large variety of intercollegiate events across Chennai, we've always won in everything we've participated in. We are provided with proper permissions from Union which helps us practice on campus. Other than that we have, clubs that provide us with credits and opportunities to serve society. Our college has a hostel, which is pretty decent, other than that there are ample amount of PGs and private hostels around our college.

Placements are good like when you rech the 4th semester you will be told to register the Placement portal and you will be charged 5000 to register in that Placement portal after that people from good companies or professional Placement trainers will come and train you give you classes the classes will be there until 5th semester end. After that many Placement offers will come to you in your given emails and you will be able to apply in those companies if you are eligible they will contact you. Internship offers the staffs itself give all the active Internship details in the college whatsapp group it will be created once your classes begin.

The eligibilty varies it's better to no arrears during placements average package could 3.5LPA Around 60 percent is placed I got placed. IN our college there are various companies that come for placemrnt like Capegimini, hcl, wipro, airtel, Ericcson.
Good college and value for money
Placement Experience :
Around 70% of the students from this course got placed, which is kinda decent I think. The highest package went up to 21 LPA and the lowest was around 5 LPA. Some of the main companies that came for recruitment were TCS, Zoho and Wipro. For internships also, students got chances in companies like Zoho, Amazon and Wipro. Most of the roles offered were related to HR, not much technical roles from what I heard.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure in the college is high and for different course the fee is different for ELECTRONIC AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING I am paying ?90000 and for bus ? 16000 and someone in my class is paying ?125000 so not everyone is paying the same amount in the college
