Remarks :
To get admission to HIMS Hassan as I was a non-Karnataka resident, I needed to have an eligibility certificate provided by RGUHS, Bangalore itself. I paid 2000 for the certificate. The closing rank is nearly 21000 AIR and fluctuates each year. I joined late so didn't undergo any orientation program so I found out everything about the admission process all by myself, make no mistake if you have been allotted a seat in Karnataka College you need to have the eligibility certificate along with that you need a medical certificate of any certified doctor.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Choosing MBBS was a little impulsive of me, I would say it's not worth the time it takes off my lifespan. Anyway since I have chosen this course and college let me be completely fair to you, professors are overachievers in my college, each of them wants us to become a name known worldwide and they work hard for it. Teaching methods are a bit harsh and not as loose as other medical Colleges but if it's skills you want to learn this college is probably the best choice available. Exams are done on a timely basis and are slightly easy to pass if you have a baseline of daily entering the study room or library ( twice a week) Scholarships are provided to the state resident students. Also for SC St students. In general, students securing a rank under 40000 can apply for FFE at the start of the first year itself around January. They pay 40000 each year. The cost including hostel fees and tuition fees is around 544000. (Fluctuates)
Internships Opportunities :
The internship is provided in the same hospital. As an intern, you are posted in different departments over 4 weeks in major departments and a week in minor departments. The stipend is 396000/- annually in hand.
Placement Experience :
You need to pass the final year exam or pass the supplementary exam, then you are promoted to an intern with a monthly salary of 33000/- for a year. Each of the students undergo an internship. After completing the internship you will be provided with a graduation degree. After which you will have to apply for KMC registration in RGUHS to practice clinical knowledge.
Campus Life :
"Aikya" is the name of the fest done during August or September. Not so good just a bunch of dance and other competitions between students. Different types of books are available in the college library starting from a book weighing 50gm to 8 kg. Each one of these books covers a vast majority of medical knowledge. Classrooms are well equipped, no AC at all Rooms remain cool because of the constant weather in Hassan. Sports activities are not endorsed that much by the college itself. Mainly 5 clubs are there in the college - ECO club ( wealth) - sports club - food club - Litt club - kannada Sangh Food is the worst nightmare for an outsider, the first year had a hard time by itself. The security deposit is 15000/- which is refundable. Each month costs 4000/- hostel bill.

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
