I always wanted to get into MMC as it was the best college outside Bangalore It is also the first medical college of Karnataka so it has a lot of heritage and legacy with it I had asked many people before joining and everyone recommended MMC
The curriculum is standard CBME it is the same for all medical colleges under NMC the new curriculum is well designed as per the needs of an MBBS graduate And focuses more on the clinical aspects of the course Every day we have 3 hours hospital postings with two theory classes and a small group discussion Faculties are sufficient in all departments and are the best doctors in Karnataka hospital teaching and case load is more than adequate for a student to be a good doctor All kinds of scholarships are available like SSP NSP KSB FFE and books and laptops are also provided for SC and st students
I have not opted for any internship out side as it is not necessary for an MMC student. Each student has to go through all the departments and work for a month in each by this they become competent enough to set up their practice
365 days of compulsory internship is there for all students in K R hospital there are other hospitals like TRAUMA CARE CENTER PKTB SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITALS JAYADEVA CARDIOLOGY tied to MMC so we get to see all sorts of patients
As such we don’t have a campus all the hospital colleges and hostels are scattered. we don’t have a campus but all the facilities are available throughout the year there will be programs like cultural fest sports fest Teachers Day etc. This year is the centenary year so there are even more fests and academic workshops happening I feel if you want to have a good social and academic balance MMC is the best
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. All the faculties are extremely well qualified from top institutions of the world and they are all extremely approachable and nice. The term exams we had were split like CP1, CP2, and CP3 of 20+25+25 marks each. They were some easy ones, and some application based, which develops the engineering thinking mindset
