BITS is considered a premier institute in engineering and when I received my BITSAT score I was ready to take anything I'd get at BITS. There is also more scope to explore outside of core engineering, especially at BITS. The entrepreneurial scenario at BITS also played a huge role in why I picked BITS.
I had the option to choose between BE Chemical, Msc Chem and MSc Bio(Dual degree). While deciding I ruled out chemical because at the time I thought I'd rather take a dual degree because I wanted to take a shot at a better degree later. The choice between chemistry and biosciences was easy for me because I hated chemistry. Term exams happen on fixed days and there were no delays. To me, the difficulty level of a few courses seemed high but most are achievable with decent hard work. The fee hike is approximately 7 per cent every year. I am here for 5 years. In my first year, I paid 7 lakh for tuition fees, and in my second year, I'll be paying close to 8. I took no financial aid because my parents were ready to pay the whole fee.
Placements are decent if you have a good CGPA and a decent skill set. This year specifically the placement scene all over india wasn't great, but compared to other colleges BITS is doing decent. The package was easily 1.5 Cr and the average was around 20-35 depending on which course you taken(the packaged vary depending on your degree)
Campus life is amazing. You will find your people here and the hostels are well maintained too. In your first year you'll have shared rooms (2 people per room) and second year onwards you'll shift to your single rooms. There are many clubs and departments and there is at least one club for every hobby out there. We have 3 fests every year- Waves, Quark and Spree(cultural, technical and sports respectively). Waves happen around Oct in your first sem and Quark and Spree in Feb and March respectively in the second semester. The library has an ample number of books. The food quality of the mess is decent but repetitive. We have pretty much the same menu throughout the year. Campus rules don't allow you to stay off campus so there are no facilities for PG.
I choosed this course because the course covers all the aspect of commerce field . The teaching method and quality is also very good . We have smartboard in every classroom . All the professors use smartboard to teach . We have 3 isa in which 1st one is compulsorly and in 2nd and 3rd isa we get improvement chance which helps us to score better in term exam as the marks of isa are added in term exam .
No placement is done here . Placement is done only in MBA programs. .
At the end of the 3rd year Campus placement starts and I would like to tell that many 4-5 star hotel come to campus for placements Like TAJ , Hyatt , many airports companies Lowest package was around 2.5L annually and highest was around 6-7L per annum
Placements and internships are good there are two internship seasons named as PS1 and PS2 which is based on our curriculum. During the past 2 years the placements have not been that great because of the ongoing recession. But still companies are coming with less packages and students are getting placed but frequency is less. My plan after the degree is to get some job experience and then I will try to go pursue MBA.
Great ! You can get it easily in your preferred city/country. There are many hotels which are linked to iihm so interships and placements are easily available in your preference. Good fot that reason.
Faculty are very experienced and distinguished personalities they are very knowledgeable in their fields. The course here is very tough. Scholarship is available in 2 channels 1st is merit scholarship, the 2nd is merit cum need scholarship.
Eligibility criteria for placement is 21-22 for the the third year student there is placement after they complete the course the percentage is high so many companies come to our collage and test that they are eligible or not to do work in their company
They also offer on campus placements to crack interview, the eligibility criteria for placement is that you should have excellent Communication skills, and you should clear backlogs, there are 12 recruiters attented for on campus placement and offered a highest package as 8-9 LPA, and lowest package as 5-6 LPA, students who got placements have more than 75%, It's better to have better communication skills to crack an on-campus placement...
On campus placements are offered every year. The highest package last year was around 60 lakh while the lowest was 8lpa. Out of all the students only one student wasn't placed which gives us almost 100% placement rate. Almost all top companies visit our college including Google, Amazon, Facebook etc.
Placements are excellent. Top companies have hired freshers from here . My branch CSE has 100% placement rate and overall all branches have 99% placement rate . Usually students are offered on campus placements so there is no need to go for off campus opportunities
