While choosing this college I thought of a few factors, like patient inflow, Teaching, Practical Orientation, Workshops, etc. If you see in Shimoga there are two Dental Colleges, one is SHARAVATI & other is Subbaiah Dental, If we compare these two, the infrastructure of Subbaiah Dental is better, but the patient inflow of Sharavati Dental is way more, which is the main factor is considered while doing internship!! But the catch in every dental college is if you have a Govt. Seat, you have to pay an extra 50000 as Dental Fees every year!., Teaching here is good, and practical experience is appreciated. The staff are very friendly. The bad aspects of the college are regarding sports, it doesn't have a good ground to play. During the internship, this college pays around? 2000/- per month ( as of this time ).
I chose this course as an alternative to MBBS, and despite taking another year's drop, choosing this course was better. The dental curriculum is interesting, you get to do art in this field, not just study all day long! And 1st year of BDS is as similar to 1st year of MBBS, so you get that experience and realise you didn't make a mistake choosing this field! Faculties are very friendly and they help you develop your skills overall. Scholarships from Govt. Can be availed here. There is no hike in Fees over the 4 years of studying, and during an internship, you don't need to pay the fees, you get paid. 2000/- per month.
The one-year internship is compulsory for all the students to complete in this college itself !! Do you get paid? 2000/month and the job is to treat patients in every department every month, do the record work, etc. The task is very similar to that of a doctor!!
There aren't like the Placements you get in Engineering, in this course after completing 4 years of studying, you have to COMPULSORY do 1 year pf Internship ( paid-> ?2000/month ). Job opportunities after completing BDS are more in Meteo cities. You can even set up your clinic if you want.
Life at campus is kind of good, to be honest, Fest is around the Month of May-June, but no celebs are called for it. It's just a sports and cultural fest kind of thing, where you need to pay money for it to organise. Sports is good, but the ground isn't that good. Extracurricular activities are well appreciated like going to Conferences, Sports Events, etc. There is a social group called NMO - NATIONAL MEDICOS ORGANISATION, where, you can go to medical camps during internships and postings, and there will be chances for you to go to North India for camps. The hostel is good for girls, but for Boys Hostel isn't recommended, you can get a room in nearby ( Golden City ) for the same price as the hostel.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
