My journey as a bachelor in dental surgery
Remarks :
It's a well-reputed college with good facilities, faculty and a great campus with decent amenities, a sports complex, restaurants and fast food, connectivity of the college is good, located a few kilometres from the airport and railway station. The admission process is through NEET, no interview, written test or group discussions are taken for admission, it is cleared through counselling rounds of NEET, I had taken coaching for NEET to clear it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had heard a lot about BDS, I had chosen this course out of my genuine interest and I did great in practicals, a lot of skill is required, it takes a lot of practice to hone your handwork skills as a dentist. Faculty are well-known dental surgeons in Belgaum and as well as in India. Exams are conducted regularly at intervals of 3-4 months which includes 2 internal examinations, one preliminary examination and one final examination. The difficulty of these exams is average, overall it's a good learning experience. The cost of study is around 4.5 lakhs per year duration of the course being 4 years and a year of internship.
Campus Life :
The campus is quite big with all amenities, and good infrastructure, sports activities are encouraged, and there is a racecourse stadium and sports complex, swimming pool, and gym. All books related to the subject are available in the library there is provision for a digital library as well. Once a year in March we have our annual fest which has all literary, cultural and sports competitions. We have a student council which organises these events.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel is decent, mess is not that great, infrastructure is also alright, application for a hostel room is easy it's just a little paper work at hostel office which is situated in the campus itself, it can also be done during the admission process.

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
