Gujarat Ayurved University, a renowned institution in the study of ayurveda, was founded in 1967 and is situated in Jamnagar. It is an independent organisation that receives all of its funding from the Gujarat State Government. It has received Grade "A" accreditation from NAAC and is acknowledged by UGC. It provides 32 distinct courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels in the various branches of yoga, pharmacy, and ayurveda.

It also offers basic introductory Ayurvedic courses. It serves as a nodal organisation for the global spread of ayurveda.
