YCMOU Campus Life & Infrastructure

Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University has a 147-acre campus near Gangapur Dam in Nashik, Maharashtra. The campus supports distance learning students, visitors and university operations through academic, administrative and student facilities.

• The campus has 16 major buildings for services handled by the university headquarters.
• The academic division includes 8 academic schools, the academic services division, science laboratories and a conference or seminar hall.
• The library and resource center has a reading room, classrooms, a computer lab, books and journals. It holds 54644 printed books, 52 periodicals and 35 computers.
• Other facilities include an audio-video center, cafeteria, gymnasium, guest house, presidential suite and conference halls.
• Hostel facilities are available for male and female students, with basic facilities and AC rooms.

YCMOU Examination 2026

YCMOU examinations are held twice a year, in June for the January session and in December for the July session. Most exams are held offline at assigned centres, while a few programs have online exams.

• The evaluation pattern includes 30% continuous assessment and 70% term-end examination. YCMOU uses a 10-point CGPA system, and students need at least 40% to pass.
• Theory paper exam fees range from INR 300 to INR 500, while practical or viva fees range from INR 600 to INR 1,000, along with late fees where applicable. PWD candidates receive support such as extra time or scribes.

YCMOU Exam Pattern

YCMOU evaluates students through theory papers, practicals and project work. In theory papers, Continuous Assessment carries 20% to 30% and the End Examination carries 70% to 80%.

• End exams usually have a duration of 3 hours.
• The papers include MCQs and descriptive questions.
• There is no negative marking.
• Practical assessment covers lab work, journals and viva.
• Project assessment includes report submission, viva and research work.

Study material is available in printed or digital form. The assessment weightage changes by program, and professional or diploma courses give more focus to practical learning.

YCMOU Assignment

YCMOU assignments are an important part of evaluation. Students should submit them by the prescribed date before the examination begins, as late submission can affect the final result.

• The last date for assignment submission was extended till June 10, 2026.
• Assignments carry 20% weightage in the overall result.
• Students must submit assignments at asm.ycmou.org.in before the due date.

YCMOU Learning Material

YCMOU provides learning resources such as the E-Book Portal, Audio lectures and Video Lectures. Study material is available in printed and electronic formats. Students can download self-learning material from ycmou.ac.in/student-zone/self-learning-material.

• The self-learning material is arranged to support independent study through unit-wise content, illustrations and learning objectives.
• Previous question papers are also available on the website. They help students understand the paper pattern and the level of preparation needed to pass the examination.

YCMOU Refund of Fees

Students who cancel admission after joining a program can claim a refund of the University Program Fee as per the UGC-approved schedule below.

YCMOU Reservation

YCMOU follows the Maharashtra State Reservation Policy for programs with limited seats. Half of the seats are filled through merit, and the remaining 50% are reserved as per category rules. The reservation breakup is given below.
