Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University (GADVASU) was established in 2005 at Ludhiana by an act of Punjab Legislature No. 16 as notified in Punjab Government Gazette on August 9, 2005. The college started to function from April 21, 2006. The sole motive for opening this university was to promote livestock production and efficient prevention of diseases through integrated teaching, research and extension programmes.

The university offers UG, PG and PhD courses, admissions are based on merit scored in respective exams.

  • Admission to GADVASU UG courses is based on the scores of CET gadvasu the entrance test is conducted by the university itself.
  • Admission to UG courses of GADVASU is based on the performance of the candidates in AIEEA-PG.

  • Experimental dairy plant is another excellent feature of the infrastructure which is created in the college the main aim of experimental dairy plant is to provide best infrastructure for training to the b tech dairy technology students and to undertake research and development work by the scientist for leveling up with the laboratory concepts of newly developed technologies to semi commercial skills the experimental dairy plant is having milk handling capacity of 5000 LPD.
