BFUHS Admission Dates 2026

BFUHS conducts Punjab state counselling for MBBS, BDS, and other health science seats through NEET-based admission. The active October 2026 schedule includes the NEET UG third round for MBBS/BDS and the NEET MDS third round.

BFUHS Courses and Fees

BFUHS offers health science programmes through Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, and AYUSH faculties. The fee depends on the course, the type of college, and the seat quota. The table gives general-quota figures for government or constituent colleges.

Management-quota MBBS fees in BFUHS-affiliated private medical colleges are fixed under the rules of the Punjab Fee Regulatory Committee. The university also affiliates pharmacy, physiotherapy, and medical imaging programmes through its 155+ member institutions.

BFUHS Admission Process

BFUHS is the single-window counselling authority for health sciences admissions in Punjab. For most major courses, students are admitted through NEET-based merit lists. Government college seats are filled through centralised state counselling.

MBBS and BDS

For MBBS and BDS, students must qualify NEET UG and meet the Punjab state cutoff rules. Eligible students register on the BFUHS portal, upload documents such as the NEET scorecard, marksheets, domicile certificate, and category certificate if needed, and then complete online choice filling. Seats are allotted on the basis of NEET UG merit, reservation rules, and college preference. For General Category government MBBS seats in Punjab, the NEET closing score usually falls between 540 and 600. Private college closing scores may be much lower, depending on the round and the college.

MD/MS and MDS (Postgraduate)

Admission to postgraduate medical and dental courses in BFUHS-affiliated colleges is based on NEET PG and NEET MDS scores. Students register on the BFUHS PG counselling portal and fill online choices for their preferred specialisation and college. State quota seats cover 85% of seats, while All India quota seats cover 15%, and both are handled through separate counselling processes. For highly competitive MD specialisations such as Dermatology and Radiodiagnosis in Punjab government medical colleges, NEET PG closing ranks usually need to be in the top 5,000 to 8,000 range.

BAMS, BHMS, and Allied Health

AYUSH courses such as BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS in Punjab's affiliated colleges follow the NEET UG-based counselling route used for MBBS. B.Sc Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health courses admit students through NEET UG scores or Class 12 merit, depending on the programme rules.

1. Qualify the required entrance exam or meet the merit rule for the chosen programme.
2. Register on the BFUHS counselling or admission portal within the stated schedule.
3. Upload the required academic, identity, domicile, and category documents.
4. Fill the online choices for course, college, quota, and category where applicable.
5. Check the merit list and allotment result released by BFUHS.
6. Pay the required fee and report to the allotted college for document verification and joining.

BFUHS Placements and Career Outcomes

BFUHS-affiliated medical and dental colleges do not mainly follow a campus-placement model. Graduates usually move into NEET PG preparation, government service, hospital roles, or private clinical practice. For PG three-year graduates, the NIRF-reported median salary is INR 9.60 LPA.

After completing MBBS from a BFUHS-affiliated college, most students choose one of three routes: NEET PG for MD/MS specialisation, Punjab government hospital or medical officer posts, or private practice in smaller cities and rural areas of Punjab.

Nursing and pharmacy graduates from BFUHS-affiliated colleges are mainly hired in Punjab government health system posts, private hospitals, and pharmaceutical sector roles across the Delhi-NCR to Punjab corridor.

BFUHS Scholarships

Most scholarship support for BFUHS-affiliated college students comes through government schemes instead of university-level merit awards. The main schemes are given below.

Students can apply on the National Scholarship Portal after their admission is confirmed. Some affiliated colleges may also run their own scholarships, so students should check with the allotted college during admission.

BFUHS Campus and Infrastructure

The BFUHS headquarters campus is in Faridkot, Punjab, at a distance of 100 km from Ludhiana and 55 km from Bathinda. It includes the university administrative offices, examination division, and selected constituent units such as a dental college and postgraduate medical departments.

The Faridkot campus has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The annual hostel fee is INR 15,000 to INR 24,000, based on room type. Students also have access to a central library, examination halls, research labs, basic sports facilities, and an attached teaching hospital for clinical exposure in constituent programmes.

BFUHS has a wider affiliated network of more than 155 colleges across Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Mohali, and Sangrur. This network covers Punjab's major healthcare education centres.

BFUHS vs MUHS vs KUHS

BFUHS, MUHS, and KUHS are state health sciences universities. Each one affiliates medical, dental, nursing, and allied health colleges in its own state. For students, choosing between them means choosing a state-level health education system.

MUHS in Maharashtra has the largest number of medical seats among the three systems and gives NEET aspirants the widest state network. KUHS in Kerala is known for the clinical training quality of its government colleges. BFUHS is smaller and more focused on Punjab, with strong government college options for students with high NEET scores.
