Undergraduate Admission at NIMS 2026

Each year, NIMS Hyderabad has 250 places across 3 undergraduate allied health programmes. TG EAPCET 2026 merit rank decides selection. Once results are released, NIMS organises counselling and allots seats.

Courses, Seats and Eligibility

The 10 B.Sc Allied Health Sciences specialisations are Anesthesia Technology, Dialysis Therapy Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency and Trauma Care Technology, Radiography and Imaging Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Neuro Technology, Perfusion Technology, Radiation Therapy Technology and Transfusion Medicine.

Clinical training takes place in a working super-specialty hospital. From their first year, allied health students train alongside senior specialists in departments such as Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Nephrology and Oncology.

Selection and Application Steps

There is only one selection measure for these courses: the TG EAPCET 2026 rank. NIMS calls applicants in rank order, then uses web counselling for course choices and seat allotment.

• Take TG EAPCET 2026 in the BiPC stream, covering Biology, Physics and Chemistry, and obtain a valid rank.
• Complete the online application on nims.edu.in within the notified application window.
• Send the printed application and supporting documents to the Associate Dean (Academic-2), NIMS, Panjagutta, Hyderabad, within the submission deadline.
• Participate in NIMS counselling. Both rank and course preference determine the seat offered.
• Visit NIMS on the assigned reporting date with original documents and pay the required fee.

MD/MS Admission at NIMS 2026

A valid NEET PG 2026 rank is the only selection basis for the 94 MD/MS seats in clinical and para-clinical subjects. Applicants do not face an interview or another test. To qualify, they need an MBBS degree from an institution recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), a completed compulsory internship and permanent registration with a State Medical Council.

Counselling Routes and Reservation

Applicants can follow either of the two counselling routes running alongside each other. NEET PG 2026 rank remains the deciding factor.

• All India Quota, 50%: MCC conducts online counselling at mcc.nic.in. Applicants from every state may participate. The process includes Rounds 1, 2 and the Stray Vacancy Round.
• Telangana State Quota, 50%: KNRUHS conducts web counselling at tspgmed.tsche.in for Telangana local applicants. Category-wise reservation is SC 15%, ST 6%, BC 29% and EWS 10%. Within these categories, horizontal reservation is 33% for women and 5% for persons with disabilities.

Academic Fee, Stipend and Bonds

The total academic fee is INR 65,000. Telangana's government pays residents a monthly stipend of INR 1,16,844 in Year 1, INR 1,20,040 in Year 2 and INR 1,23,236 in Year 3.

Joining MD/MS requires two separate bonds. A student who leaves midway must pay the training bond penalty of INR 50 lakh. The service bond requires 1 year of work in a Telangana government facility after graduation. Breaking it brings an INR 20 lakh penalty, full recovery of the stipend and exclusion from Telangana government services for 3 years.

Stipends are paid regularly and exceed those at some other Telangana government medical colleges. The large number of patients gives General Medicine residents clinical experience in infectious diseases, haematology and rheumatology.

Steps to Join MD/MS

• Qualify NEET PG 2026.
• For the All India route, register with MCC after results, enter course choices online and take part in Round 1, Round 2 and the Stray Vacancy Round as applicable.
• For the state route, apply at tspgmed.tsche.in once KNRUHS issues its notification. Provide local-status documents, enter preferences and participate in the online allotment rounds.
• Report to NIMS within the allotted period and sign both the training and service bonds when joining.

MPT, MHM and M.Sc Admission at NIMS 2026

NIMSET is the written entrance examination for Master of Physiotherapy (MPT), Master of Hospital Management (MHM) and M.Sc admission. NIMS Hyderabad organises this test, and these programmes do not use NEET scores. MPT applicants must hold a BPT degree.

Follow the annual notification on nims.edu.in and take NIMSET for the relevant programme. NIMS publishes the examination timetable and fee details each year; contact the institute for the exact fee.

DM/MCh Admission at NIMS 2026

Super-specialty training at NIMS includes Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Neurosurgery. Its 67 DM/MCh seats are allotted through MCC using NEET SS ranks. There is no Telangana state quota for these programmes.

Qualifying Degrees

Applicants need a valid NEET SS 2026 score and an MD, MS or DNB that NMC recognises as the entry qualification for their chosen DM or MCh speciality.

Fees and Allotment

The first-year DM/MCh fee is INR 15,050, with a separate one-time admission fee of INR 10,000. NIMS is not an Institute of National Importance (INI), unlike AIIMS or JIPMER. It therefore has no separate INI-CET entry route; MCC allots all 45 seats solely through NEET SS rank.

Applicants do not attend interviews or take an institutional test. Only NEET SS 2026 rank determines selection.

Steps to Join DM/MCh

• Take NEET SS 2026, tentatively scheduled for December 11 and 12, 2026.
• After results, register through the MCC Super Specialty Counselling portal at mcc.nic.in.
• Enter programme preferences and participate in Rounds 1, 2 and the Stray Vacancy Round.
• On the assigned reporting date, bring original documents to NIMS Hyderabad and pay the first-year reporting fee of INR 8,000.

Scholarships and Financial Support at NIMS Hyderabad

Eligible NIMS students can seek scholarships from both state and central governments. For MD/MS residents, the government stipend and low PG tuition fee also help meet study costs.

• SC/ST/OBC State Welfare Scholarships: Telangana's post-matric support is available to eligible SC, ST and BC students in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• EWS Fee Concession: State policy provides fee concessions for eligible EWS undergraduate students.
• State Merit Scholarship: Undergraduate students with high merit may receive this award based on TG EAPCET rank and academic results.
• UGC PG Scholarship for SC/ST Students: This central government scheme supports SC/ST students taking postgraduate courses at UGC-recognised institutions.
• Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child: Single girl children enrolled in eligible postgraduate courses can apply for this support.
