NIMS has one of Telangana’s broadest selections of allied health courses among public medical institutions. B.Sc subjects include Blood Transfusion Medicine, Medical Radiography and Imaging, Respiratory Therapy, Radiation Therapy, Perfusion Technology, Anaesthesia Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Neuro Technology, Emergency and Trauma Care, Dialysis Technology and Cardiovascular Technology.

NIMS Hyderabad Admission Process

Selection at NIMS depends on merit and the entrance or qualifying examination required for each course. MD/MS and DM/M.Ch admissions have no management quota. Of the 94 MD/MS seats across specialisations, the All India Quota is handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the Telangana State Quota is handled by Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).

Steps for MD/MS Admission

An MBBS qualification and a valid NEET PG score are needed for MD/MS. Applicants must also finish a 1-year rotatory internship before admission.

  1. Take NEET PG, which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.
  2. For the All India Quota, register for MCC counselling. This route covers 15% of seats.
  3. For the Telangana State Quota, complete KNRUHS counselling registration. This route covers 85% of seats.
  4. Enter course and college preferences. Allotment depends on NEET PG rank, category and the choices submitted.
  5. Complete the required admission formalities after allotment, with the compulsory 1-year internship completed.

Entry to DM and M.Ch

NEET SS, the Super Specialty entrance examination, is held each year for DM/M.Ch specialisations. A valid score is required for admission. Applicants need the relevant postgraduate clinical qualification: MD for the applicable DM route and MS for the relevant M.Ch route. Seats are assigned through MCC’s All India Quota counselling and state counselling.

Selection for Nursing, Physiotherapy and Allied Health

Class 12 marks form the basis of undergraduate paramedical selection. Applicants need Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with an aggregate of at least 50%, or 45% for reserved categories. Telangana’s KNRUHS guidelines apply to B.Sc Nursing, while NIMS prepares institute-level merit lists for BPT and B.Sc Allied Health Sciences.
