KNRUHS Admission Process

KNRUHS admissions are based on merit in NEET-linked entrance exams. The university handles centralised online counselling for 85% state-quota seats. The 15% All India Quota seats are handled by MCC or AACCC, depending on the course stream.

MBBS and BDS Admission

Students applying for MBBS and BDS under KNRUHS must meet these conditions:

  • Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
  • Score at least 50% in PCB for General Category, 45% for OBC/SC/ST, and 40% for PwD candidates
  • Have a valid NEET UG score
  • Be at least 17 years old on 31 December of the admission year

The counselling process starts with KNRUHS preparing the Telangana state merit rank from NEET scores. Students then register online, complete document verification at assigned helpline centres, fill choices, receive seat allotment, pay the fee, and report to the allotted college.

Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, and Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad are among the top government medical colleges under KNRUHS. For General Category students in the Telangana state merit list, these colleges usually close between 1,000 and 5,000 in NEET UG rank. Other government colleges under KNRUHS generally close between 10,000 and 40,000 for General Category students, based on the college.

AYUSH (BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BNYS) Admission

Admission to AYUSH UG courses is also through NEET UG. KNRUHS conducts state-quota allotment, while AACCC manages AIQ AYUSH seats. For PG AYUSH courses such as MD Ayurveda, MD Homoeopathy, and MD Unani, AIAPGET is used for AIQ seats and KNRUHS counselling is used for state-quota seats.

MD, MS, and MDS Admission

MD and MS admissions in allopathy use NEET PG scores. KNRUHS conducts counselling for 85% state-quota PG seats, and MCC manages the 15% AIQ. MDS seats are filled through NEET MDS scores. For the current cycle, KNRUHS kept MDS registration open till 25 August 2026, and counselling is now in progress.

DM and M.Ch super-specialty admissions at eligible KNRUHS-affiliated super-specialty hospitals in Telangana are based on NEET SS scores.

Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Admission

B.Sc Nursing admission is based on 10+2 PCB marks and KNRUHS state counselling. B.Sc Nursing 2026 registration reopened in September 2026. BPT and B.Sc MLT also follow the state-counselling route, with PCB eligibility at the 10+2 level.

KNRUHS Placements and Career Outcomes

KNRUHS-affiliated courses mainly lead to licensed healthcare careers instead of regular campus placements. MBBS students become eligible for NMC registration after completing the one-year compulsory rotatory internship. Many graduates then prepare for NEET PG for MD/MS courses, while others begin work in government or private medical practice.

BDS graduates can register through the DCI and either apply for MDS through NEET MDS or start private dental practice. AYUSH graduates register with the relevant state boards and may work in private practice, government AYUSH services, or pursue PG studies through AIAPGET. Nursing and allied health sciences graduates from affiliated colleges work in government hospitals, corporate hospital chains, and private clinics across Telangana and South India.

Career Stage Pathway Typical Compensation
MBBS Internship Compulsory rotating internship at the attached teaching hospital INR 15,000 to INR 20,000 per month stipend
Government Bond Service Rural or PHC posting for 1 to 2 years under government-quota obligation INR 50,000 to INR 70,000 per month
NEET PG pathway MD or MS at a government or private hospital Stipend of INR 70,000 to INR 90,000 per month
Private practice after MBBS General practitioner or polyclinic work INR 50,000 to INR 1.50 lakhs per month, variable
Government service after MD/MS Specialist role at a government district hospital or teaching hospital INR 1 lakh to INR 1.50 lakhs per month
Note: In some KNRUHS-affiliated state medical colleges, MBBS students admitted under the government quota must serve in government hospitals for 1 to 2 years after graduation. Students who do not complete the bond service have to pay a penalty. The exact bond rule should be checked with the allotted college during admission.

KNRUHS Campus and Infrastructure

KNRUHS is based in Warangal, Telangana. It works mainly as an examination, counselling, and regulatory university. Students attend classes and complete clinical training at their respective affiliated colleges, and each college has its own teaching hospital link.

Major government medical colleges under KNRUHS include Kakatiya Medical College, attached to MGM Hospital, Warangal, Osmania Medical College, attached to Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad, and Gandhi Medical College, attached to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. These hospital complexes give MBBS and PG students broad clinical exposure because they serve large patient groups in Telangana.

Infrastructure at private colleges affiliated with KNRUHS differs from college to college. Before accepting a seat, students should check hospital bed strength, library facilities, hostel availability, and the NMC inspection status of the specific private college.

KNRUHS vs Dr. NTR UHS vs Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University

Students comparing health sciences admissions in South India often look at state affiliating universities across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. KNRUHS, Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, and Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University all regulate NEET-based health sciences admissions in their own states.

Parameter KNRUHS (Telangana) Dr. NTR UHS (Andhra Pradesh) Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University

Admission Gateway NEET UG / PG / MDS / SS NEET UG / PG / MDS / SS NEET UG / PG / MDS / SS

KNRUHS is the newest among these three universities, but it covers the full health sciences range in Telangana. Its inclusion of Unani medicine reflects Hyderabad's long Unani tradition. Dr. NTR UHS has operated for a longer period in Andhra Pradesh, while Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University has a larger seat volume in South India and also covers Siddha medicine, which is native to Tamil Nadu.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I always wanted to become a doctor, it was never parents pressure. So yes, I'm trying to achieve my dream. The faculty is highly qualified with teaching experience of more that 20 years. There is wide use of ppts and instruments to teach, practicals are held very frequently and almost everyday. Exams level of difficulty honestly depends on how you study, the exams are once a week or thrice a month depending upon the department and practicals held.

Placement Experience:

Everything depends in CV, it should have certificates and good passing marks of every year. Good certifications from authorised places give alot of placement opportunities. Usually the packages are very less, depending upon the recruites as well. We cannot expect more from internships. My plans after getting the degree is to do post graduation and specialty of my interest and then settle.
