RNT Medical College Admission Process

Admission depends on the national entrance examination prescribed for each course. The college does not hold a separate institute-level test. MBBS seats are filled through NEET UG, MD/MS and PG Diploma seats through NEET PG, and DM/MCh seats through NEET SS.

MBBS Admission

The MBBS seat structure includes 15% All India Quota seats handled through MCC counselling, 85% Rajasthan State Quota seats managed by DME Rajasthan and 15 NRI seats.

  • Applicants must complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum aggregate is 50% for the General category and 40% for SC, ST and OBC-NCL applicants under NEET rules.
  • A student must be at least 17 years old when admitted.
  • For AIQ admission, the steps are: obtain a NEET score, register with MCC, enter college choices, receive the seat allotment, complete document verification and report to the college.
  • For State Quota admission, the steps are: obtain a NEET score, register with DME Rajasthan, receive a Rajasthan state rank, fill in choices, take part in seat allotment and report to the college.

At admission, every Government and AIQ MBBS student must sign a compulsory service bond. After MBBS and the internship, the student must complete 2 years of rural service at a PHC or CHC in Rajasthan. A financial penalty applies if this service is not completed. The requirement does not apply to NRI Quota students.

MD/MS and DM/MCh Admission

For MD/MS admission, MCC manages 50% of the seats through AIQ counselling and RUHS handles the remaining 50% under the Rajasthan State Quota. NEET SS governs entry to DM and MCh programmes. Applicants need a recognised MBBS degree and Medical Council registration. RNT offers 130 seats across 22 MD/MS disciplines and also runs a growing group of DM and MCh programmes.

RNT Medical College Cutoffs

MCC All India Quota ranks determine admission through the national counselling pool, while DME Rajasthan publishes a separate State Quota cutoff based on Rajasthan merit prepared from NEET UG scores. The category-wise figures below are the closing ranks from MCC AIQ Round 1 in 2026.

Category NEET UG 2026 Closing Rank, Round 1
Open 3,971
OBC 4,406
EWS 5,327
SC 27,131
ST 38,953

RNT Medical College Placements and Career Outcomes

Government medical colleges generally do not arrange conventional campus placements, and RNT Medical College follows this pattern. An MBBS graduate usually moves through the compulsory internship and rural bond service before choosing postgraduate study, government employment, private practice or another medical career.

Career Stage Typical Compensation Details
MBBS Internship, 1 year INR 14,000 per month as stipend Compulsory rotating internship at MB Hospital
Bond Service, 2 years INR 14,000 per month Rural Rajasthan posting at a PHC or CHC, with a penalty for default
MD/MS Residency after NEET PG, 3 years INR 70,000 to 80,000 per month as stipend The route followed by most RNT graduates
Government Service after PG or NEET clearance INR 1.2 to 2.0 Lakhs per month Work as an assistant professor or specialist in a government hospital
Private Practice after MBBS or PG Varies widely Hospital employment or private practice in an urban or semi-urban area

Most graduates prepare for NEET PG and continue into an MD or MS specialisation. Their training at MB Hospital provides broad clinical exposure because of its large patient load. Other options include government medical service, UPSC Civil Services and public health work after the bond has been completed.

Bond requirement: Government and AIQ students must complete the Rajasthan government's two-year rural service bond. NRI Quota students are exempt. The financial penalty can change, so applicants should confirm the applicable amount with the college during admission.

RNT Medical College Campus and Infrastructure

RNT Medical College is situated at Panchwati, Udaipur, Rajasthan 313001, close to Udaipur City Railway Station. Its campus contains the pre-clinical and para-clinical departments, laboratories, lecture halls, a central library and housing for students and staff. Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital, the college's attached teaching hospital, is a tertiary-care facility with more than 1,100 beds. It is the main referral centre for Udaipur, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Banswara, Chittorgarh and Pratapgarh districts. Facilities include outpatient departments in all major fields, emergency and trauma care, diagnostic imaging and super-speciality clinics. Patients also arrive from the tribal regions of southern Rajasthan and north Gujarat, giving MBBS students extensive clinical experience during four-and-a-half years of training.

Male and female students have separate hostels. Room type determines the annual hostel fee, which ranges from INR 13,177 to INR 52,756. Common rooms, spaces for cultural activities and a sports ground are also available on campus.
