BITSOM Placements FAQs

Ques. How can BITSOM MBA students use an internship to improve their chances of receiving a full-time offer?

Ans. Students should first learn how the company operates, from its broader strategy to the way employees carry out daily tasks. They should question assumptions, work towards a shared solution, and combine an insight-based approach with creativity. These practices can improve their chances of earning a full-time offer during the internship.

Ques. How does BITSOM help MBA students handle placement interviews with major recruiters?

Ans. Interview preparation and stress management are both important during placements. Companies recruiting from business schools often email only shortlisted students, and waiting for that message can feel stressful. Students should remain patient and confident instead of setting unrealistic expectations. They should hope for a good result while also preparing for an unfavourable outcome.

Ques. What placement mentorship and academic support can MBA students receive at BITSOM?

Ans. BITSOM is the 5th campus of BITS Pilani. MBA students complete rigorous training during the programme and can access one-to-one mentoring and guidance for live projects through the alumni network. Visiting faculty members from global business schools, including Oxford University and the University of Washington, come to India for 2 weeks to teach subjects in their areas of expertise.

Ques. Which parts of the BITSOM MBA curriculum support placement interview preparation?

Ans. The MBA curriculum includes 2 live projects: a consulting project and a research project based on an organisation's problem statement. Through these projects, students work with recognised MNCs and industry leaders. BITSOM also provides psychometric and self-assessment programmes that support planning and preparation for placement interviews.

Ques. How does the BITSOM mentorship programme prepare students for work in the industry?

Ans. BITSOM pairs each student with an industry professional whose experience matches the student's goals. This structured programme runs for 1 year and helps students recognise and develop their potential. Mentors come from MNCs and other leading organisations. Students with strong academic records may also get the chance to visit London Business School and develop their entrepreneurship skills.
