NPGC Lucknow Courses and Fees

More than 30 courses are available at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and doctoral levels. Aided and self-financed programmes have different fee structures. Traditional BA subjects have subsidised fees, while science and professional courses such as B.Sc, BBA, BCA, and B.Com cost more.

The complete three-year fee for a traditional BA in subjects such as Economics, English, Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Hindi, and Statistics is INR 30,000. At the UG level, B.Sc Science has the highest listed fee at INR 2,33,700 for three years. The three-year charges for BBA and BCA are INR 1,98,600 and INR 1,92,600, respectively, while the two-year MA fee is INR 45,600. Advanced Diplomas in Analytical Techniques, Data Analytics, and Computer Applications are popular short-term skill programmes in the INR 34,800 fee range.

NPGC Lucknow Admission Process

As an autonomous institution, NPGC Lucknow manages admissions in coordination with the University of Lucknow. LUACCET is the main selection route for most courses, although Class 12 merit can be considered for certain aided programmes. The college does not provide a management quota or admission outside its stated merit process.

UG Programmes (BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BBA / BCA / BMS / B.Voc)

Selection for UG courses depends on LUACCET results or Class 12 marks, according to the programme and available seats. The main requirements are:

• Applicants must have passed 10+2 from the UP Board, CBSE, ICSE, or an equivalent board.
• Admission to a B.Sc science course requires the relevant PCM or PCB subject combination in 10+2.
• BA Journalism applicants may come from any stream but must have studied English.
• The process covers LUACCET registration, publication of the college merit list, document checks, fee payment, and final seat confirmation.

If LUACCET results are unavailable, the college can fill aided BA seats directly through Class 12 merit because it has autonomous status. LUACCET merit generally remains the main criterion for self-financed and professional UG courses, including BBA, BCA, B.Sc, and B.Com (Hons.).

Postgraduate Programmes (MA / M.Com / M.Sc / MPH / M.Voc)

Marks in the relevant undergraduate degree determine PG admission. Applicants need a graduation degree in the subject connected with their chosen course. M.Sc Geoinformatics and MPH may also carry extra subject requirements. The process follows the central admission schedule of the University of Lucknow, and NPGC Lucknow issues its own merit list after the LUACCET PG results.

Ph.D. Programmes

Doctoral applicants must have a valid UGC-NET/JRF score or pass the University of Lucknow research entrance test. A relevant PG degree with at least 55% marks is compulsory. Faculty supervisors at NPGC Lucknow support research in Commerce, Education, English, Geography, History, and Physical Education.

NPGC Lucknow Placements

The Training and Placement Cell conducts a campus recruitment drive each year. Among the students who took part in 2024-25 placements, the highest CTC reached INR 6.5 LPA, while the average was INR 1.77 LPA.

The placement team connects students with employers from IT, edtech, retail, banking, financial services, and BPO. Recruiters that have taken part include HP, Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, BYJU’S, Justdial, EduGorilla, and PVR Cinemas. IT and BPO roles commonly attract BCA and B.Sc Computer Science graduates. Students from B.Com and BBA are placed in banking, NBFC, retail, and FMCG positions. The cell also supports corporate interaction, mock interviews, and skill-development workshops.

NPGC Lucknow Rankings

India Today placed NPGC Lucknow among the recognised degree colleges in Uttar Pradesh for Commerce and Computer Applications in 2025.

The college is not currently listed in the NIRF rankings. Its 7th position in Uttar Pradesh for Commerce shows its standing among degree colleges in Lucknow. The institution’s main quality accreditation is its NAAC ’A’ grade.

NPGC Lucknow Campus and Infrastructure

NPGC Lucknow operates from 2, Rana Pratap Marg, Hazratganj, Lucknow, close to government offices, banks, and the main campus of the University of Lucknow. Hazratganj is a major educational and commercial area, and public transport serves the college location.

Academic facilities include classrooms, a central library, a seminar hall, computer laboratories for BCA and B.Sc Computer Science, and separate science laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Electronics, and Computer Science. A language and communication laboratory assists students of BA English Literature and BA Journalism and Mass Communication.

The campus provides separate boys’ and girls’ hostels, each charging up to INR 60,000 per year. Students can also use the sports ground, gymnasium, and student activity centre. The Training and Placement Cell has a campus facility for employer meetings, practice interviews, and skill workshops.

NPGC Lucknow vs Kalicharan PG College vs Ewing Christian College

Students comparing degree colleges affiliated with the University of Lucknow often consider NPGC Lucknow, Kalicharan PG College, and Ewing Christian College. All three serve applicants from Lucknow and other parts of central Uttar Pradesh.

NPGC Lucknow combines a wider course selection with an active placement cell, particularly for professional UG options such as BBA, BCA, B.Com, and B.Sc. Kalicharan PG College, established in 1921, is the oldest of the three and provides government-aided fees for conventional arts and science courses. Ewing Christian College has a historic central Lucknow campus, holds the same NAAC A grade as NPGC, and offers a similar range of programmes.
