St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Kochi, is a first-grade autonomous institution affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and administered by the Archdiocese of Verapoly. Its MBA and MSW programmes have listed total fees of INR 1,70,000 and INR 84,000, respectively.

The college handles undergraduate and postgraduate applications directly through the Albertian Online Admission Portal (AOAP). Applicants pay a non-refundable application charge of INR 250. Admission does not involve LBS Centre, MG University centralised counselling or another external counselling agency.

The undergraduate offering comprises 13 majors alongside 11 B.Voc programmes. Selection for every undergraduate programme depends on qualifying-examination merit, with no entrance test. Class 12 marks are converted into an index score, and the college issues separate lists for General Merit, SC/ST, Latin Community, Sports Quota and Cultural Quota candidates.

Undergraduate Eligibility

Applicants must pass Plus Two, Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Programme-specific minimum marks apply; most aided arts and science programmes require 45% in the relevant qualifying subjects. Kerala SC/ST applicants need only a pass. The prescribed minimum is relaxed by 3% for SEBC candidates and 5% for OEC candidates.

Undergraduate Admission Procedure

1. Register through AOAP on the college website and complete the seven application stages described in the application section.
2. Pay the online application charge of INR 250 when submitting the form.
3. Check the college website for the merit lists and admission schedule.
4. Report to the college with original documents on the admission date indicated in the rank list.

The college calculates undergraduate merit, publishes its own lists and completes admission through AOAP. Neither LBS nor MG University centralised counselling handles these undergraduate seats.

St. Albert’s College PG Admission

The college lists 16 postgraduate programmes for 2026-27, with a combined sanctioned intake of 337 seats, excluding lateral entry. Its academic fields include arts, science, commerce, business administration, social work and vocational studies. AOAP handles applications for all postgraduate programmes, including MBA and MSW.

A relevant degree under the 10+2+3 system is required from MG University or a university whose qualification MG University recognises as equivalent. Applicants currently pursuing, or previously enrolled in, a UG or PG programme must pass all papers and clear outstanding examination registrations before applying for another postgraduate programme.

Kerala SC/ST applicants need only pass the qualifying examination. SEBC candidates receive a 3% relaxation and OEC candidates a 5% relaxation from the prescribed marks. PwD candidates also require only a pass; however, PwD reservation does not apply to Science and Technology programmes.

Merit Calculation and Postgraduate Admission

Except for MBA and MSW, postgraduate selection uses an index derived from undergraduate qualifying marks, with relevant core-subject weightage and NCC/NSS bonuses. Index scores are standardised to 1000.

The self-financing MBA has 60 seats. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree from MG University or a recognised equivalent university, with at least 50% aggregate across all parts. SC/ST candidates require only a pass.

A valid KMAT Kerala, CAT or CMAT score is compulsory. Shortlisted applicants must clear both the group discussion and personal interview. KMAT Kerala takes place twice annually and is described as the most popular route among Kerala-based applicants. The 2026-27 MBA intake used the first and second KMAT Kerala sessions.

The self-financing MSW programme has 50 seats. Eligibility requires any bachelor’s degree from MG University or a recognised equivalent, with at least 50% aggregate or CCPA 5 out of 10 across Parts I, II and III together. SC/ST applicants need only a pass.

Eligible applicants take a college-conducted Common Entrance Examination, followed by a group discussion and personal interview. This selection route differs from both regular postgraduate merit admission and MBA admission.

The other 50% of self-financing seats belong to Management Quota. Additional provision includes 10% extra seats for international students, 2 extra seats per programme for transgender applicants and 2 extra seats per programme for orphan children. Sports Quota and Cultural Quota each provide 1 seat per 20 sanctioned seats.

Undergraduate and postgraduate applications must be submitted online through AOAP at the college website. Offline and walk-in applications are not accepted. The common application procedure has 7 stages.

Quota Documents and Admission Reporting

PD, Cultural, Sports and Management Quota applicants must deliver supporting documents to the college office by the deadline specified in the rank list. Latin Catholic applicants seeking Management Quota seats must download the attestation certificate from the college website, obtain their Parish Priest’s attestation and submit it. Original certificates are required during interview and admission.

Scholarships at St. Albert’s College

The Archbishop Attipetty Memorial Scholarship supports students enrolled in B.Voc and M.Voc programmes. Established in remembrance of the Founder Patron, Servant of God Archbishop Joseph Attipetty, the scheme applies from 2020-21 onward and includes continuing students and newly admitted students of the 2026-27 batch.

Only B.Voc and M.Voc students qualify for this institutional scholarship. Eligibility is reviewed each semester using the immediately preceding semester’s marks. Students must pass every course in that semester without backlogs. Marks earned through improvement examinations or retakes are excluded.
