More than 30 UG and PG degree programmes are offered in arts, science, commerce, management, and vocational fields. Students may also pursue research, diploma, and certificate programmes. Fees are subsidised for aided courses, while professional and self-financing programmes use separate fee structures.

For aided undergraduate courses, fees start at INR 8,100 for BA and B.Com and reach INR 10,275 for BA (Hons.). Aided MA and M.Sc fees fall between INR 7,625 and INR 10,145. The professional M.Sc programmes in Applied Statistics, Psychology, and Nutrition cost INR 1,00,800.

Short-term study options include diploma and certificate courses in Digital Marketing, Data Science, Cyber Security, Clinical Nutrition, and Fashion Designing.

St Teresa’s College Admission Process

Admission is based mainly on merit. Students apply on the college portal, and St Teresa’s College publishes separate UG and PG rank lists there. Eligibility and reservation for aided courses follow Mahatma Gandhi University rules.

The main stages in the application process are:

1. Choose a programme and check its subject and marks requirements.
2. Complete the online application at admission.teresas.ac.in.
3. Wait for the applicable UG or PG merit list on the college portal.
4. Complete document verification and any programme-specific selection stage.
5. Pay the required fee to confirm admission.

UG Admission

A recognised board must have awarded the applicant a passing Plus Two or Class XII qualification.

• For BA (Hons.) and B.Com (Hons.), applicants need Plus Two from a recognised board and the minimum marks prescribed under MG University norms.
• Applicants to B.Sc (Hons.) science courses must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, Biology, or the PCMB combination in Plus Two.
• BCA (Hons.) Cloud Computing requires Mathematics or Computer Science at the Plus Two level.
• Any Plus Two stream, including a vocational stream, is accepted for B.Voc. programmes.

Aided UG selection uses rank lists prepared from Plus Two marks. Professional and self-financing courses may publish their own merit lists. UG admission does not involve an entrance examination.

PG Admission

For aided MA and M.Sc courses, students need a degree in the relevant or an allied subject from a recognised university. The usual minimum is 45 to 50 per cent, with category-based relaxation.

• M.Sc Applied Statistics and Data Analytics accepts a B.Sc in Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• M.Sc Psychology and Nutrition and Dietetics require a B.Sc in the relevant field.
• Graduates from any stream may apply for MA Journalism and Mass Communication.
• PGDM Research and Business Analytics is open to graduates from any stream at a recognised university.

The college portal carries the PG selection lists. A personal interview may form part of selection for PGDM and the professional M.Sc courses.

PhD Admission

Mahatma Gandhi University regulations govern PhD admission. An applicant must have a relevant postgraduate degree with at least 55 per cent. Selection considers performance in the university research entrance test and an interview. Research supervision is available in Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, English, Home Science, and Sociology.

St Teresa’s College Placements

Final-year students from UG and PG programmes in science, commerce, and management take part in placement activities. For the 2023-24 session, NIRF 2025 data records 208 UG placements and 144 PG placements. The reported median salary for UG students was INR 3.42 LPA.

Campus recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Sutherland Global Services, Toyota, and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. The placement cell conducts recruitment drives, industry visits, and training in communication and other soft skills during the year.

Many BA and B.Com graduates prepare for banking recruitment examinations such as IBPS and SBI PO, state government jobs, and civil services. Further research and teaching are common paths among PG graduates. The college has not published one combined highest-package figure.

St Teresa’s College Rankings

The college is listed in the College category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Its position changed from 46 in 2024 to 60 in 2025. The 2025 result included an overall score of 57.84, a Graduation Outcomes score of 81.69, and a Teaching, Learning and Resources score of 71.81.

St Teresa’s College Campus and Infrastructure

The 12-acre campus stands on Park Avenue Road in Ernakulam, close to Marine Drive and Ernakulam Junction railway station. Its academic and student facilities include science laboratories, computer labs, a language lab, a central library, a gymkhana, a cafeteria, and an auditorium.

There are three women’s hostels on the campus. A student who needs a hostel place must submit the request on the day of admission. Through its DBT Star College status, the institution receives support for advanced laboratory equipment and research work in its life sciences departments.

Radio Kochi 90 FM gives Communication Studies and Media students practical broadcasting experience. Student innovation and startup projects are supported by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre and the Institutional Innovation Council.

St Teresa’s College Scholarships

Students can seek support through central and Kerala government scholarship programmes. These include merit-based and income-based schemes for eligible students from general and minority communities. Under Kerala government rules, SC and ST students in aided courses receive a full tuition fee waiver.

Applications for central schemes are made through the National Scholarship Portal. During admission, students may apply directly through the college for institution-managed merit awards and need-based financial support.

St Teresa’s College, Sacred Heart College in Thevara, and Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam are common choices for arts, science, and commerce study in the city. Each institution is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

Among the three, St Teresa’s has the highest listed NAAC grade and offers professional and vocational options such as BCA, PGDM, and B.Voc. Sacred Heart is co-educational and recorded the better NIRF 2024 position. Maharaja’s College is a government institution, has more than a century of history, and is the most affordable of the three.
