What I Liked

What I like the most about college is, friendly environment where everyone is there for another, the faculty members, along with their excellent experience. The beautiful garden of the college and lushious greenery, where one and sit and be away from city ruch and find mental peace. The college has a big and beautiful library, that can quench any question that comes to the mind, and computers and internet to help the students.
The college along with academics hold many events to keep the students busy and entertained, they host events like, freshers, farewell, Diwali fest, and many others in wich students can take part and represent the college.

What I didn’t like

The only thing that the college lack is, that Shimla is a cold city and no heaters are provided

Placement Experience:

The college might provide placement to the students with technical degree, but for literature students there's no placement, so after plans can be like, getting a PHd or clearing NET and entering into teaching profession.

Remarks:

I choose this college for their, excellent faculty members, because they all are well deserving of their post, and are always there to help students, pluc the city Shimla makes it more interesting. After applying to the college, one interview was taken online via call, then another interview was taken in the college it self by the teacher, and final was taken by the principal, and then submission of documents and fee.

reality of ST. BEDES

What I Liked

The infrastructure of college is very nice in comparison with the colleges of shimla . Students from other states come to our college because it is very reputed . our college as many reputed alumni like preity zinta and rubina . faculty of college is also nice and approachable.
The environment of our colleges is good the college is built in a good location. and we have a nice campus that we can explore during our free time and library is open till 4 pm so we can visit it any time.

What I didn’t like

The main thing get a dislike about this college is that they are very strict regarding rules and regulation they treat us like children of schools we have fixed schedule for every class tea breaks lunch time in the first year we will not allowed to leave the campus till 1:00 p.m. even if we was free during the classes if we wish to leave the campus we would have to get the sign of principal on written application only then we can leave the campus they conduct money unnecessary event in the college weekly and we are forced to sit there for 2 three hours and we are not allowed to use our mobile phones during the session
The head of our college is very strict and scold children and teachers without any reason .In the summers we were not allowed to wear off shoulder tops ,crop tops or sleeveless tops or ripped jeans and she would also scold children if the carries small purse and tell them that are not coming to a fashion show and if they are coming to the college why are they not carrying books. The college has very good reputation outside but only the student know what they go through in the college

Placement Experience:

I don't know about the placement criteria because I am in second year but as per my knowledge companies from outside are invited to the campus for the placement of 3rd year students and internship also provided for second and third year student by the college.

Remarks:

This college is most reputed college in Shimla . the history of this college go back to 1904 . i searched about this college and my parents also wanted me to attend this college. We had our interview with the College Professor of Commerce Department prior to the admission and then we also had face to face conversation with the head of college. We were not required to give any exam for admission in this college

Innovative Yet Imperfect

What I Liked

What I like about the college is its modern infrastructure, which includes state-of-the-art labs, spacious classrooms, and well-maintained sports facilities.
The campus life is vibrant, with diverse clubs and societies that cater to different interests, making it easy to connect with like-minded people. The faculty is approachable and highly knowledgeable, always encouraging students to push their limits. Overall, the balance between academics and extracurriculars makes the experience enriching

What I didn’t like

What I dislike about the college is that sometimes the administrative processes can be slow, making it frustrating to get things done quickly. While the infrastructure is generally good, certain areas, like older buildings or labs, could use an upgrade.
The campus can feel crowded during peak hours, which affects access to common spaces. Lastly, though the faculty is knowledgeable, some professors may not be as engaging, making classes feel monotonous at times.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am deeply interested in English Literature and i have been reading books since i was a child. Therefore i enrolled in this course as i wanted to learn the art kf writing and study various books written by various authors. Most of the teachers have done PhD in their field and some have done masters. The teaching methods are very good and the faculty is very polite and helpful. Personal attention is given to every student. Exams are conducted according to the college calendar and the difficulty level is good like it should be.

Remarks:

This college is renowned and is extremely famous in the state. People from all over the state and also out of state come and study here. Also my cousin was an alumini of the college and she highly recommended this college to me. Therefore i chose this college. I was interviewed by the HOD of my course and also the principal of the college. And that's how i got admission in the college.

Highlights of the facts you must know

What I Liked

The attitude and friendly response of teachers towards students.
overall environment encourages students for personality development

What I didn’t like

The over strictness of rules sometimes bother students .
infrastructure as in winters is lacked. Students face difficulities in taking lectures during winters due to lack of heaters or blowers in basement departments.

Placement Experience:

Top recruiting companies like ICICI Bank HDFC Bank, Holisol Logistics, Indigo Cabin Crew, and many more visit the campus to hire students. Students are recruited based on their skills and expertise in particular skills. Approx 25-30% of the students get placement in the course. The highest package offered was 8 LPA. I am planning to start my coaching for civil services after this degree.

Remarks:

I always wanted to be a part of this renowned and one of the most famous girls' college in India. My friends used to tell me about this college as one of the famous platforms for personality development. The college is dedicated to the promotion of outstanding academic performance and excellence. The admission criteria are based on the merit of students secured in class 12th.

Ecstatic experience at St. Bede's

What I Liked

I really like the location of the college. It is surrounded by thick forest from three sides and is also next to the main road . So it's also not easily reachable and at the same time secluded also.
I really appreciate the reputation that the college has maintained for a long stretch of time. The faculty is top notch and that is what made me choose the college as well.

What I didn’t like

The thing that I most disliked about the college was the lack of sunlight. It gets quite freezing in winters.
It also gets quite boring at times as there are no fun activities to do around college.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job opportunities are made available by the college. All the information and notifications about placements and job opportunities are made available to the students by the placement cell which is maintained by students. But for English students, there are no or very less placements or job opportunities. Regular placement drives are held but they are mostly for BBA students.

Remarks:

St. Bede's is one of the oldest and most renowned colleges in Shimla. It has great reviews and that's what made me choose this college. Students have to go through an interview to get admission to English Honours, where their knowledge of the subject is examined. The college has a good studio environment. They hire the best teachers who are well-versed in the subject.

What I Liked

Faculty. The teachers are truly kind and helpful and most of all, friendly.
Environment. The environment is very good and peaceful which makes it very easy to focus better on academics

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure. It could've been more expanded.
Canteen. Before the canteen used to be better but the following years have been very bad

Placement Experience:

There are various placement drives in this college which means quite a lot of opportunities especially for courses like BBA MBA BSC etc. However I'm not sure about the packages because I haven't attended any drive

Remarks:

The English department of this college is well known to be the best in Shimla. I had an online interview on Google Meet where the teachers asked us some questions and we had to answer them. After qualifying for the online interview we were selected.
