The real side of smc

What I Liked

I like the campus atmosphere, I like the ncc,the seniors are superb .I like the campus buidlings ,I like the store in the campus

What I didn’t like

I dislike the labs ,collage location ,and department which is strict
I dislike the events which is small in the collage .the department are strict which kills the enjoying moments

Placement Experience:

I heard that there is no much placement opportunity .which is the bad sude of the collage .There is no much it offices in wayand so there is no much placement opportunity this is a very bad things for bca students

Remarks:

I didn't faced any kind of tests or interviews just needed money for seat . There was cut off which is different for commerce students and science students . Science students needed more percentage cause they dont have a background of computer . The collage is good but the facilities are a bit at teaching and the labs are not good ,the computers are not good working . The collage is surrounded by monkeys .There is no field visit for our department and less chance for IV also .Arts is not a big program

My Honest Review of College Life: Academics, Campus & Beyond

What I Liked

Supportive and Knowledgeable Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, approachable, and experienced in their respective subjects. They not only explain the topics clearly but also encourage us to ask questions and participate in discussions. Some faculty members go the extra mile by giving us notes, career advice, and personal guidance when needed.
Calm and Green Campus Environment: The college campus is surrounded by greenery and offers a peaceful environment for studying and relaxing. It feels safe and welcoming, with plenty of open space, trees, and well-maintained surroundings. It's an ideal setting for both academic focus and friendly gatherings.

What I didn’t like

Limited Placement Opportunities: One of the main drawbacks is the lack of a dedicated placement cell and limited on-campus recruitment drives. Most students have to depend on external sources or competitive exams to secure a job after graduation. If a proper placement system is developed, it would greatly benefit the students.
Although we have a computer lab and projectors in a few classrooms, the Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus is weak or unavailable for students. In today's digital age, better access to the internet and digital learning tools would improve the learning experience.

Placement Experience:

In our college, campus placements are still in the growing phase. While we don’t have a full-fledged placement cell like professional institutes, the faculty and career guidance team do provide support for career awareness, competitive exams, and higher studies. --- Campus Placement Details: Eligibility for Placement Drives: Students in the final year with good academic performance (minimum 60% aggregate), no backlogs, and active participation in training programs are usually eligible to attend placement drives. Recruiters (If Applicable): Occasionally, reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and ICICI Bank have conducted off-campus or pooled recruitment drives in collaboration with other nearby colleges. No. of Offers Made: Around 8–15 students per batch get selected through such drives, mostly in BPO, banking, or finance roles.

Remarks:

I choose this college over other colleges because this is the best college in our district and with a lower time we can get into college and transport facilities are available. The college is environmental friendly with lot of trees and plants . I haven't written any entrance test or attend interviews , I got admission with my Higher secondary mark .

Good college

Placement Experience:

Placements are so poor in the institution. Some private banks comes for interview and placements are done District wise skill fairs and job fairs are conducted on each year. Carreer guidance and orientation available

Remarks:

I choose this college because its one of the best college under Calicut University and top college in my district. I preferred study in home city and easy accessibility. I got admission in single window admission process

The college to experience

What I Liked

I like the infrastructure of college.it’s improving day by day
Campus life is really good experience and students really enjoying it.

What I didn’t like

They did not provide college placement to students
Any internship program is not providing to students

Placement Experience:

There is no campus placement. The chance to get any job after degree graduation is very low. The scope of this degree is also very limited. Placement is not happening right now .it may be happening in the future. I am going for a accounting course CMA in calicut. As i study b.com finance it will be a good advantage to study CMA for future.

Remarks:

The college is graded with A+ in NAAC .The campus is great.It is the top college in wayanad.There is no other extra exam to get admission here.U can get admission through Calicut university allotment.There will be 3 main allotment.And some spot allotment also too.The admission process is very simple.just need to bring some documents like +2 result ,10 result,TC ,CC.

St. Mary's College - My experience

What I Liked

There is ramp in the college for the differently abled.
There is a well functioning gymnasium for students.

What I didn’t like

There will always some sort of infrastructure works done which disturbs the class.
Disturbance of monkeys is often seen as it is close to the forest.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities in our college are comparatively less. More opportunities are provided to BSc and BCA students. Students get placed in these courses. One opportunity was given to all final year students and I got selected but I was not interested in that job. The important recruiter is Wipro.

Remarks:

This is the college with great goodwill and a demanded campus which is near to my locality. Also, this is the best college in our district of Wayanad. The admission process was through the single window system of Calicut University. The provisional rank list is made from the index marks of the applicants. The index marks are calculated by adding 50 marks to the marks of the 12th class. An additional 15 marks are added to index marks if the student has been part of any of the NSS, NCC, etc.
