Course Curriculum Overview:

We r not having any written cariculam ,some faculties are really experienced some r useless nothing new. Our course modifies according to the need of industry ever year, which helps us to get better knowledge about what is going on in outer world.

Remarks:

I was interested in art and drawing knew about this course from relatives and online platform, i gave a written paper and a studio exam for clearing the admissio process. In written we have to prepare currebt after, maths ,english etc and in studio exam we have to make 3D models according to the given question

Nift Kolkata

What I Liked

Faculties are nice and very supportive, mostly chill
Seniors are also really nice they help you in all kinds of problems which u can face at a new place or college

What I didn’t like

Campus is too small at nift Kolkata but it's not too bad at the same point
Non availability of any hostel for boys

Placement Experience:

NIFT is all about building connections and meeting as many people as possible, working on your skills and doing lots of internships, and by the year you passout you'll have enough contacts to get you a job if not through college, but the college recruitment process is also good, placements are more than 8-10lpa and about 80%

Remarks:

Did 1 year coaching for NIFT/NID/UCEED NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY being the best fashion college in India, was the reason I chose this college for my degree, admission process includes, registration then CAT&GAT exams for design students and only GAT for bftech students Then one more exam on passing first one conducted in nearby campuses for design students

Nifty tales

What I Liked

The faculties are very good and the campus like and the people are very sweet and lovely to have around .
The campus is a bit small but very beautiful and the resource centre is an absolutely gem.

What I didn’t like

There’s some restrictions in some projects sometimes that’s a big problem .
The campus is small even the classrooms are big but stacked with so many things and there’s no space to work freely.

Placement Experience:

The eligibility is just you have to pass the 4 th year and some good company comes for campus placements like Aditya Birla ,Arvind , Puma etc and the package are alright but should have been better for the price we pay for the education and 60-70% students gets placement from college itself.

Remarks:

No personal choice, always wanted to pursue designing as a career, and fashion and design are two things I had a keen interest in and nift was one of my top targets from the beginning and I’m happy that I’m here and I got into nift.

All about NIFT life

What I Liked

The college life is very happening with every event now n there. We used to be hooked with our college assignments and juries throughout the sem. The faculty members are very helpful and help in getting a job and internships as well.
The campus infrastructure is beautiful as it's been made and designed by top notch designers and architects of the nation.

What I didn’t like

The college placements can be a little better.
The seniors are very helpful and we enjoy a very happy cultural life with experiencing in many cultures across the country..

Placement Experience:

Well, the placements are very rough the cut-off of companies varies. There are several designer houses and retail industry, retail industry and manufacturing export houses take part in it. The packages differ from location to location as in clmetro cities the packages are high while in suburbs a little less package is justified. The packages start from 6LPA to 30LPA.

Remarks:

NIFT is a very prestigious college in the world of fashion in India. Many famous fashion designers have been a part of NIFT. There was an entrance test GAT(General Aptitude Test) taken on an all-India basis after which we were given our respective All-India ranks based on which we were qualified to select a Center out of 19 centers all across India.

Are you preparing for NIFT

What I Liked

Infrastructure is on the average although the faculties are totally awesome , cool , generous humble and friendly
campus life is good if you're extrovert , for the introverts its gonna be a bit tough although they are gonna get their company sooner or later

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure is certainly on the low as compared to other NIFTs ... ours is the smallest campus
Except from infrastructure certain labs have machines which are no longer suited for industry and should be replaced with new ones

Placement Experience:

Placement and Job opportunities are fair yet not too lavish, for someone who's interested in fashion and is preparing for nift i wouldn't recommend them to have a very big expectation in terms of package.packages differ from branch to branch and specialization to specialization. top recruiters are Raymonds,Tanishq ,Puma , UCB, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Limited , etc Last year's highest packages were 16 Lpa, 18 Lpa & 22 Lpa while the avg package range is about 5 lpa to 8 lpa

Remarks:

I got to know about this college from my Uncle who is an alumni of this prestigious Institution , at first it was difficult to make my grandparents understand what's Nift and why Bftech but then eventually everything fell into the right places as time passed, Admission procedure is smooth and one needs to practice for General Aptitude Test (GAT)for BFTECH, as per the new rules anyone from any stream(12th) can apply for it , although for the B.Des you need to prepare for situation test too.
