Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology was established to study the fundamental atmospheric problems and understand the mechanism of monsoon, weather systems, and climate related processes in the tropical region, founded on 17 November 1962 at Pune as a distinct unit of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

IITM Pune Scholarships

IITM Pune research fellowship 2022 is a research opportunity offered by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology Pune to postgraduate degree holders. The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of INR 31.000 per month plus admissible HRA.

To avail the fellowship:

  • Candidates must be 28 years of age on 27th June 2022 and must hold a postgraduate degree in physical sciences with at least 55% marks for general and OBC categories (50% for SC, ST and physically handicapped)
  • Must have qualified national eligibility tests or national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, IIT, IISc, etc.
