Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Dehradun is a unit of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India. Established in 1966 under the aegis of the Survey of India (SOI), IIRS Dehradun offers an MSc in Geoinformatics, an MTech, a PG Diploma in nine specializations, and other certification courses.

IIRS offers an MSc in Geoinformatics as its flagship program. There are 10 seats in the course. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have at least 55% marks in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in BE/BTech or MTech/MSc in a relevant discipline. The age limit is 45 years. The final selection is based on the entrance exam conducted by IIRS, which comprises Basic Science, Basic Mathematics, General knowledge, Aptitude Test, and some questions on Geoinformatics. Government-sponsored candidates are exempted from the entrance exam.
