International Institute for Population Science (IIPS), Mumbai was established with the joint sponsorship of Dorabji Tata Trust, the government of India, and the United Nation in 1956. It was known as Demographic Training Research until 1970. It received the deemed-to-be university status on 14 August 1985 under section 3 of the UGC Act by the MHRD Government of India. The college is accredited with an 'A' grade.

Duration - 1 year Fees - 22,880 INR Eligibility- Students must complete M.A./ M.Sc from any university with 55% marks in subjects: Anthropology, Biostatistics, Geography, Economics, Development Studies, Political Science, Health Statistics, Mathematics, Population Studies, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Rural Development and Statistics. Candidates with two years of experience in Population and Health related fields are also eligible for this course.	Selection is based on the entrance exam followed by the interview.
M.Phil	Duration- 1 year Fees - 20,570 INR Eligibility- Students must have passed the master's degree in Population Studies/ Demography/ Biostatistics and epidemiology/ Biostatistics and Demography with 55%. Candidates who qualify for exams of UGC/CSIR- JRF or any other fellowship exam are also eligible to apply for this M.Phil course	Selection will be done through the entrance exam along with a personal interview.
PhD	Duration - 2 to 6 years Fees- INR 1.30L to INR 3,89,400 Eligibility- Candidates must have completed the M.Phil and M.A. in their respective subjects. Students who have clear UGC/CSIR- JRF or any other fellowship are eligible for Ph.D. admission.	Admission to the Ph.D. will be done through the online exam, research proposal writing, and personal interview.
Fellowship	Duration- 1 year Fees- 34,320 INR Eligibility- Students must have completed their Ph.D. program in Population/ Health/ Gender/ Development	Candidates have to send their hardcopy of research proposal to the institute. The selection process will be done based on the presentation of the research proposal and personal interview.

M.A./ MSc. Population studies	The selection will be done through the score obtained in the entrance exam. Successful candidates will get INR 5000 per month.
MSc Biostatistics and Demography	The selection will be done through the score obtained in the entrance exam. Successful candidates will get INR 5000 per month.
MPS (Master in Population Studies)	The selection will be done through online exam scores and personal interviews. Successful candidates will get INR 5000 per month.
Ph.D. Population studies/ Biostatistics and Demography	Candidates who have qualified for the UGC NET exam will get a fellowship of INR 31,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd years of a Ph.D. program and INR 35.000 per month for the 3rd and 4th years of the Ph.D. program.
