WII, popularly known as Wildlife Institute of India,was established in 1982. It is located in Dehradun, Uttrakhand. The institute is established by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and the Government of India. It is headed by the government.

  • Eligibility: Secured at least 55% marks in graduation from any recognized university.
  • The maximum age limit is 25 years as on July 01, 2019 with relaxation of 5 years for reserved category national candidates (SC/ST/OBC) and 3 years for foreign candidates.
The selection will be based on the percentage scored in graduation.
PG Diploma
  • Specialization: Advanced wildlife management
  • Total fees: Rs 11,00000
  • Duration: 10 months
  • Eligibility: DCF/ACF or any other officer working in national parks, wildlife, sanctuaries, universities and foreign nationals including SAARC countries.
The selection will be based on their working post in national parks, wildlife sanctuaries etc.
Ph.D (Wildlife Management)
  • Specialization: Wildlife Management
  • Duration: 3 Years
  • Total fees: 8,00000
  • Eligibility: Post Graduate with minimum of 60% marks obtained.
The selection will be based on the marks secured in PG.
Certificate
  • Specialization: Wildlife management
  • Duration: 1 week to 6 months
  • Total fees: Rs 352,000
  • Eligibility: Service officer in deputy officer or range officer with minimum inter pass out.
The selection will be based on the 10+2 marks.

Wildlife Institute of India Admission

M.Sc program's admission is done on the basis of NET exam. The candidates have to appear in this exam. Then, the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and Personality Aptitude Test. 

To get admission in PG level courses, the candidates are selected on the basis of the recommendation by the State Forest Departments of officers of the rank of DCF/ ACF. 

To seek admission for Certificate programs, the candidates have to follow the rule of first come - first serve basis.

  • The placement is provided by the EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) of WII, Uttrakhand. 

Wildlife Institute of India Scholarship

The scholarship program is only available for M.Sc level courses. They can receive the scholarship by following things. 

  • The college provides scholarships to those students who want to seek admission in M.Sc program.
  • For this course, the best 8 students are selected on the basis of merit list. 
  • They will get the scholarship facility
  • They will receive the scholarship in the first year of college. 
  • PG and Certificate programs do not offer scholarships to the students.
