Teachers here are very helpful just like school. They make us sure we won't miss any topic. They help us in non study things also. The college also provides us with self assigned advisors . 1 per 12 students. Timing is perfect. Rules are good. A proper decorum.
Though there are no placements provided by the university itself but they do help us in career guidance by providing us with lectures from ex service men and current ips rfo . College of forestry have also started coaching classes which help us in competitive exams
Read Full ReviewThe course studied in the college are pretty good the faculty is good infrastructure is also well. The college is provided with classroom, library, lab facilities, field visits. 2 semester exams held in a semester, difficulty level is not very high.
The placement facility is pretty good only some students get selected in campus placements while some go for a break or some join different fields. The job opportunities in forestry course are quite less but can give banking and competitive exams.
Read Full ReviewThis university offers different courses like horticulture, forestry, biotech, food tech, fishery. Courses for all the students of bsc, msc amd phd are available. I choose this course forestry because there are many opportunities for students to do good in competitive exams like for forest rangers and HAS or banking etc. All the Professors are phd qualified. Some have more theoratical way of teaching and some take us to field work. There are mid term exams that are held in oct and April month and then finals ate in December and June. Difficulty level is not very high students can easily pass the exam if they study properly for once.
As Ys parmar college of horticulture and forestry is well known government college established in 1985. The course helps us to knlw more about our state Himachal Pradesh which will help in further competitive exams. Also courses like horticulture, biotech etc have a huge scope in future and offers secured jobs. This college has 3 different branches in solan, hamirpur and mandi district.
Read Full ReviewThere is very good faculty . We are made to do practicals on every topic . The exams are conducted semester wise . The course which we study are also thoroughly managed in the fields which increases our practical knowledge which we study in books.
Jobs in Private sector in horticulture and govt. Jobs in forestry. There is a bright future ahead as there is a 70% reservation for forestry study who want to appear in exams but there is shortage in vacancies .
Read Full ReviewThere is a large no. Of faculty of Professors. The Courses that are studied are also provided along with the practical work in fields as to make it work in real life also or to know its practicality in the field. Managing and growing plants by ourselfes to know how a hybrids are made in laboratories.
Placemets are their but not 100% as some students opt for the study in foreign countries on scholarships. For govt. Sector their is a 70% reservation for students to apply for exams .the exam is conducted by the HPPSC state govt. Which is a wriiten exam is we pass the students who have percued a degree in this is directly eligible for it.
Read Full ReviewThe teachers here are highly qualified here. In a semester there will be mid term and end term along with final practical. This university offers graduation, post graduation and phd in a lot of different fields like fruit science, soil science etc
The fact that this was the first horticulture university in asia and it offer a lot of different departments and proper labs and fields which help the student to get practical knowledge and a good infrastructure.
Read Full ReviewThe university mostly provides only two courses which are BSc Hons (forestry) and BSc Hone ( horticulture). In each semester there are 7-9 courses with each course teaching us everything related to the forestry and agriculture fields. The teachers give lectures in classrooms that are 1 hour long. The teaching facility is great but some teachers may just not teach that efficiently so the university has a library with some of the best agriculture and course-related books including civil services exams-related book that helps u greatly. The exam is conducted every semester in 3 phases- Midterms (15-20 marks) Practicals (35-40) End terms (40-50) marks The practicals provide extensive practical knowledge of fields and tools. There are other experience learning programs and internships in the last year which is 4th year of college. In an internship, you work in industrial sites and under doors for experience.
Placements are none. Internships are provided here and you are exposed to many things all over India tour also takes place. In the case of placement, one should not expect anything here. The students here prepare for master's or government exams.
Read Full ReviewFees for self-finance seats are quite high as it is as high as 80000 per semester, and for normal seats, it is just 30000 per semester. Teachers are good but they are more engaged in research activities rather than teaching Various scholarship programs like inspire, and university stipends are there for providing financial aid to prestigious students.
Well, almost negligible companies visited for campus placement. Passed out students have to arrange jobs on their own. Due to the reputation of universities in the state and country in the agricultural field, students get jobs easily.
Read Full ReviewThe course was chosen as a different alternative from engineering and medicine. The faculty here is highly qualified but still is of old time mentality focused on good grades do PhD and getting a job as an Assistant professor with no exposure to the industry and advancement. The fee is overpriced whereas hostel facilities are not upto the mark.
No placement has been made by the university in the near past. The placement cell of this university is dead which is the major drawback of the university. No placement and no future security are in the university and the administration Doesn’t do anything about the same.
Read Full ReviewI've always been interested in biotechnology. Teachers are highly qualified all of them have post-doctoral degrees Every semester exams are held twice 1- Mid-semester exams 2- End semester exams + Practical exams There are scholarships based on scores in semester exams
No Placement option for a bachelor's degree Maybe for MSC and PHD programs it's there But if you expect after btech or bsc then is not a good college If you're extraordinary you may get a sponsored trip to somewhere but placement for bachelors is not a thing here
