- The people you will meet here are very nice and the seniors are also nice. There is no ragging done just only interaction with senior who just makes you comfortable here. The college life is good. One who is in love with nature and wildlife will fall in love with the lush green campus with hundreds of different tress and plantations.
Dislikes
- The college is situated in a village so u get bored easily as there are no big cafes or hotels aor restaurant nearby but just few km’s away you will find good places. The no placement thing here provides you with stress and infrastructure is good but could be better. The people who take admission mainly are in love with nature and forestry enthusiasts and in case of horticulture wants to become hdo or do masters.
Remarks :
I had a university entrance test that included physics, chemistry, biology and general knowledge questions with some agricultural questions that were easy. The whole test is of 100 marks. The marks distribution may vary but is around 39 marks for each subject 5 marks for GK, and 5 marks for agriculture. When u clear the test there is counselling based on the cutoff the university gives. If u don’t clear the test there is a chance for the paid seats. Whose fees are higher than normal. There are 3 colleges one in Nauni for forestry and horticulture and natural farming. Then there is Neri Hamirpur for forestry and horticulture. Then in mandi thunag for forestry and horticulture. Seats are allocated based on seats available in each college. People prefer the Nauni campus for its better facilities.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The university mostly provides only two courses which are BSc Hons (forestry) and BSc Hone ( horticulture). In each semester there are 7-9 courses with each course teaching us everything related to the forestry and agriculture fields. The teachers give lectures in classrooms that are 1 hour long. The teaching facility is great but some teachers may just not teach that efficiently so the university has a library with some of the best agriculture and course-related books including civil services exams-related book that helps u greatly. The exam is conducted every semester in 3 phases- Midterms (15-20 marks) Practicals (35-40) End terms (40-50) marks The practicals provide extensive practical knowledge of fields and tools. There are other experience learning programs and internships in the last year which is 4th year of college. In an internship, you work in industrial sites and under doors for experience.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship happens in the 4th year of college. The internship in case of forestry field happens under a DFO for months and also an industry for a month. In the case of horticulture, you work in an industry for a month and work in fields for the whole year for practical knowledge.
Placement Experience :
Placements are none. Internships are provided here and you are exposed to many things all over India tour also takes place. In the case of placement, one should not expect anything here. The students here prepare for master's or government exams.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The university fee structure is semester-wise. Here are the details- Tuition fees- 10000 (exempted in case of BPL himachal girl) Registration fees- 1000 Admission fees- may change according to new enrollment Total fees including everything account to be 24-26k per semester for the normal seat. For paid seats, the fee is 60-70k per semester.
Campus Life :
College life comparatively to private colleges is not that charming but it has its fun. There are cultural fest organised yearly where all 3 UHF colleges compete for a trophy and the same in sports meet held every year between colleges. There are not many clubs but there is an art and cultural club where u can perform monthly in an open-air theatre in Nauni. You are provided with so many good books in the library and the ground to play many sports. The infrastructure provides you with a gymnasium to play indoor sports and also fields to play football, cricket, basketball etc. The classroom is provided with air conditioning and fans, with a smart board for teaching and good seating. The library provides you with a newspaper section, reading hall, writing section, competitive section etc. Many books that one cannot read in his entire college life cover every subject.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel application needs to be submitted to the student welfare office where it is accepted and hostels are allocated. The hostels are allocated based on a year of study. First years are provided with Neelkanth hostel. The hostel is fun with indoor games available in hostels. There is a common room to watch TV. Phones are allowed and techs also. You are allocated a room with two other people. The hostel mess has good food and sanitation. The hostel mess menu is decided by the students. The hostel closes around 8-9 pm and going outside the gate is not allowed there is an attendee in every hostel. The location is in a village area but there are many pgs and rooms available. There are many shops and the main Solan market is 15 km away. If someone wants to live outside the food facilities are available everywhere. If someone is thinking of KFC or something. You won’t be able to see it here just normal cafes and Dhabas only.

Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs
