IIM Sirmaur Admission Dates 2027

CAT 2026 is the entrance test for IIM Sirmaur MBA admission to the 2027-29 batch. The institute conducts its Common Admission Process with IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu. BMS applicants are shortlisted through IPMAT, while PGPEX-LSM follows an application and interview process.

All MBA tracks use CAT 2026 followed by the CAP personal interview. BMS selection uses IPMAT 2027. PGPEX-LSM applicants are assessed through their applications and a personal interview. EMBA admission does not require CAT and instead uses an application and interview process.

IIM Sirmaur Courses and Fees

IIM Sirmaur has nine distinct programmes, from the four-year BMS to the one-year PGPEX-LSM. The table lists the full programme fees for courses offered in the 2026 admission cycle.

The two tourism-focused MBA courses are not commonly offered by other IIMs. For working professionals, the EMBA options cost INR 8,00,000 to INR 8,30,000, which is less than 40% of the full-time MBA fee.

IIM Sirmaur Admission Process

Admission at IIM Sirmaur depends on merit, and the institute does not have a management quota. Entrance tests, eligibility requirements and selection stages differ across programmes.

MBA Admission for All Tracks

An MBA applicant must meet these eligibility conditions:

• Hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for SC and ST applicants
• Have a valid CAT score from the applicable admission cycle
• Final-year students may apply, but they must submit proof of the degree and required aggregate before the course begins

The CAP 2026 reference cutoffs used for shortlisting were:

• General category: 90 percentile overall
• EWS and NC-OBC categories: 75 percentile
• SC category: 66 percentile

The MBA selection procedure has four steps:

• Step 1: Take CAT 2026 and meet the category-specific cutoff set by IIM Sirmaur
• Step 2: Complete the CAP application through the IIM Sirmaur admission portal when applications open
• Step 3: Appear for the Personal Interview at the allotted city. IIM Sirmaur does not conduct the Written Ability Test
• Step 4: If selected through the merit list, accept the offer by paying the seat acceptance fee

The final composite score considers the CAT percentile, Personal Interview performance, Class 10 and Class 12 marks, graduation aggregate, work experience, gender diversity and IIM Sirmaur's Trailblazer score. IIM Sirmaur, IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu share the CAP interview process, but each institute prepares its own merit list.

BMS Admission

IIM Sirmaur uses the IPMAT score for the first phase of BMS shortlisting. Students who have completed Class 12 in any stream may apply. The four-year undergraduate programme follows NEP 2020 and provides multiple exit options.

PGPEX-LSM and EMBA Admission

Applicants to PGPEX-LSM must have at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations. Selection consists of application screening and a Personal Interview, with no CAT requirement. EMBA applicants are also assessed through their work experience profiles and interviews instead of CAT. These executive courses allow working professionals to study for an IIM postgraduate qualification without leaving employment for a full-time two-year MBA.

IIM Sirmaur Placements

The 2025 placement drive at IIM Sirmaur ended with a 100% placement rate. More than 250 companies recruited in fields such as BFSI, consulting, IT and hospitality. BFSI generated 30% of all offers. The batch received an average package of INR 13.30 LPA, while the highest offer reached INR 64.12 LPA.

Consulting recruiters included DE Shaw, ZS Associates, Deloitte, Accenture, PwC and EY. PhonePe, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Digit Insurance and Tata Asset Management represented the BFSI sector. Other participating organisations included Cognizant, Apollo Hospitals, Starbucks and United Breweries.

The 2025 summer internship process involved 202 recruiters. Students received a mean stipend of INR 54,950 for two months. The highest stipend was INR 2 Lakhs for MBA General Management and INR 1.40 Lakhs for MBA Tourism.

IIM Sirmaur Rankings

IIM Sirmaur is assessed in the Management category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework. The institute first entered the framework as a newer-generation IIM and has improved its position over time.

Founded in 2015, IIM Sirmaur operates with academic and financial autonomy as an Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act 2017.

IIM Sirmaur Campus and Infrastructure

IIM Sirmaur has a residential campus in Paonta Sahib, beside the Yamuna river in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district. The town is 45 km from Dehradun and 55 km from Rishikesh. Campus facilities include academic buildings, faculty housing, hostels, a library, sports facilities and an amphitheatre.

Boys and girls have separate hostel blocks. Residential facilities support the demanding trimester schedule followed by MBA students. The Himalayan location and access to the state's important tourism areas also support learning in the MBA Tourism Management and MBA Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Management programmes.

Academic resources include classrooms equipped for case-study teaching, a central library with online databases, collaboration areas and an MBA-level simulation laboratory. The institute also has a corporate office in Hyderabad to support outreach across southern India.

IIM Sirmaur Scholarships

MBA and BMS students may receive merit-cum-means support from IIM Sirmaur. Eligible SC, ST and EWS students can also apply for central government scholarship schemes.

IIM Sirmaur vs IIM Jammu vs IIM Bodhgaya

IIM Sirmaur, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya take part in the Common Admission Process. An applicant using CAP may receive an offer from one, two or all three institutes. Each is an Institute of National Importance under the IIM Act 2017 and belongs to the second phase of IIM expansion that began after 2015.

IIM Sirmaur provides a Tourism Management MBA for students interested in tourism and hospitality. IIM Jammu offers a city-based campus experience in Jammu and Kashmir and has a Business Analytics track, while IIM Bodhgaya is located in the heritage city of Bodhgaya in Bihar. The three institutes use the same CAT cutoff framework through CAP, though their final admission decisions are separate.
