you must secure a predetermined minimum cut-off score in all sections of CAT. According to the CAT score, the interview calls get out and there is only an Interview round no group discussions or written test. The Interview round CAP(Common Admission Process) was conducted by 9 IIMs. As a result, I only converted the IIM Sirmaur, or for me IIM tag matter that I am not taking admission somewhere else.

The college is an IIM which is a reputed college for MBA. Also, IIM Sirmaur is a new IIM and it will keep on getting better year by year. The education, exposure and placements would help me in my professional life. Bad aspects are that the permanent campus is getting delayed and also as the college is new, the location and placements opportunities are limited till now. For admission, I faced entrance exam followed by personal interview.
Read Full ReviewThere are good placements and job opportunities. The placement committee works hard to bring big brands and companies so that the students get the best opportunities. This year they did something unique wherein students could hold a couple of offers and then choose the one that suits them better.
The most important thing was the brand name of an IIM along with the faculty that made me choose the institute. To get into this college firstly you have to clear CAT with a certain percentile then there is a round of personal interviews post which you get an admission.

I decided to choose IIM Sirmaur for my MBA because of its excellent reputation, beautiful campus location in the Himalayas, and focus on providing a comprehensive management education. The admission process was quite rigorous. First, I had to take the CAT exam, which tests quantitative ability, verbal ability, logical reasoning and data interpretation skills. The next round was a CAP personal interview with a panel of faculty members from different IIMs. They asked me questions about my academic background, work experience, reasons for pursuing an MBA, career goals and other areas to evaluate my personality and fit for the program.
Read Full ReviewSince I had good contacts in the industry, I decided to opt out of the Summer Placement as well as the Final Placement process and focus on learning. The placement process was regulated by the Placement Committee (constituting students and headed by a Faculty member).
I cleared CAT with a fair overall score and appeared for the CAP (Common Admission Process for new and baby IIMs). The interview was a fairly smooth one, with both the interviewers being experienced faculty of IIM Ranchi. While I was on the waiting list, I doubted if I would at all convert any of the baby IIMs (I was actually waiting for IIM Bodh Gaya but converted Sirmaur first). The beautiful views of the campus (located at the heart of the Himalayas) and the scope of not having to wait for another year made me choose IIM Sirmaur.
