IIM Udaipur Admission Dates 2027

CAT 2026 scores will be used for admission to the 2027-29 MBA batch. IIM Udaipur shortlists candidates separately and conducts its own Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), instead of joining the IIM CAP process.

IIM Udaipur Courses and Fees

IIM Udaipur offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and executive management programmes. The total programme fee starts at INR 5,00,000 for BBA (Hons.) and goes up to INR 23,17,260 for MBA DEM and MBA GSCM.

The MBA (PGP) runs over six trimesters. The first trimester includes higher one-time charges for orientation and equipment. BBA (Hons.) follows a rising yearly fee pattern, beginning at INR 50,000 in Year 1 and reaching INR 2,00,000 in Year 4.

IIM Udaipur Admission Process

A valid CAT score is needed for all MBA programmes at IIM Udaipur. From the 2026-28 batch onward, the institute shifted to an independent admission process and stopped taking part in the IIM Common Admission Process (CAP).

MBA (PGP) Admission

The MBA (PGP) selection process has two main stages: profile-based shortlisting and the PI round. The programme has 375 seats, and there is no management quota.

• Eligibility: Students need graduation in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks, or 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Final-year students can also apply
• CAT Cutoff (2026-28 reference): General/EWS needs 94 overall and 75 in each section; NC-OBC/EWS needs 81 overall; SC needs 66 overall; ST/PwD needs 42 overall
• Shortlisting formula: The institute considers CAT score, Class 10 marks, Class 12 marks, graduation record, work experience, and gender diversity
• PI and WAT: These rounds are held in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, and Udaipur. Candidates must clear the minimum qualifying PI score
• Final composite: CAT carries 55%, PI carries 25%, and profile carries 20%, split as Academics 6%, Work Experience 6%, and Diversity 8%

The 8% diversity score helps female candidates and students from non-engineering backgrounds. For example, a non-engineering candidate with a 92 overall percentile can rank above an engineer with a 95 percentile in the final merit list.

MBA DEM and GSCM Admission

MBA DEM and MBA GSCM use the same CAT-based shortlisting and PI process as the MBA (PGP). Both are two-year, full-time residential programmes. Their intake is limited and smaller than the flagship PGP batch.

Executive MBA Admission

CAT is not compulsory for EMBA admission. IIM Udaipur accepts GMAT, GRE, or the IIMU-administered test for this programme. Applicants must have significant work experience, generally five-plus years with a mid to senior professional profile. The institute reviews the profile and then conducts an interview.

BBA (Hons.) Admission

The online BBA (Hons.) does not need an entrance exam. Students who have passed Class 12 or a diploma from a recognised board or NIOS can apply. Working professionals are also eligible. Applications are expected to open in March 2027. The application fee is INR 1,000.

IIM Udaipur Placements

For the 2025 batch (Co2025), IIM Udaipur's MBA (PGP) placements recorded a highest package of INR 47 LPA and an average package of INR 17.58 LPA. The MBA (Global Supply Chain Management) batch reported a higher average package of INR 20.23 LPA, helped by recruiter demand in operations and logistics roles.

BFSI brought the highest number of offers, followed by IT and ITES. Recruiters included Accenture Strategy, American Express, Amul, Bank of America, Berger Paints, BNY Mellon, and Bosch India. Students received roles in consulting, general management, product, and finance across sectors.

The alumni base of IIM Udaipur includes professionals in global consulting firms, FMCG companies, and financial institutions. AACSB accreditation has also improved access to international recruiters, especially for the DEM and GSCM programmes.

IIM Udaipur Rankings

IIM Udaipur scored 61.79 out of 100 and ranked 21st in Management in NIRF 2025. The institute has stayed in the NIRF Management top 25 for three straight years. Its score was strong in Graduation Outcomes, where it received 88.51, and in Teaching, Learning and Resources, where it received 81.09.

IIM Udaipur provides financial help through need-based and merit-linked support for MBA students. It also helps admitted students connect with partner banks for education loan processing.

IIM Udaipur Campus and Infrastructure

IIM Udaipur functions from a 300-acre permanent campus in Balicha, Udaipur, located 8 km from the city centre. The campus was designed by B.V. Doshi, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Its design uses ideas from Rajasthan's forts and courtyards, and the Academic Block stands beside interlinked lakes.

The campus is fully residential and houses more than 900 students, 60 faculty members, and 30 support staff. It has eight hostels, with three for women and five for men. A 500 KW solar plant supplies part of the power. DEWATS for biogas and waste treatment and rainwater harvesting systems support water self-sufficiency. MBA hostel charges are INR 25,000 per trimester in Year 1 and INR 26,250 per trimester in Year 2, adding up to INR 1,53,750 for six trimesters.

Students also use a central library, computing labs, case discussion rooms, sports grounds, a swimming pool, and a student activity centre. The campus is known among Indian B-schools for its architecture and green infrastructure.

IIM Udaipur vs IIM Rohtak vs IIM Trichy

IIM Udaipur, IIM Rohtak, and IIM Trichy are newer-generation IIMs that attract similar MBA applicants. All three accept CAT scores and use a WAT-PI selection model. Their main differences are in CAT cutoff, MBA batch size, fee, and composite score weightage.

IIM Trichy has the lowest listed CAT cutoff among the three and a lower fee. IIM Udaipur has the largest MBA batch and AACSB accreditation. IIM Rohtak has the highest cutoff but a smaller batch. Candidates with strong CAT scores and non-engineering backgrounds may benefit from IIM Udaipur's higher diversity weight in the composite score.
