Likes
- College has alot of greenry all around. Pretty flowers ,lawns, benches are provided all around the campus. Also there are 3 canteens inside of the campus.
- Faculty is very understanding. If you have a good friends group you will surely enjoy your college.
Dislikes
- Location of the college is not very suitable. It is far aways from the market site. Also you have to walk alot inside the campus to reach different locations. Infrastructure of hamirpur campus is still building but college of horticulture and forestry Thunag (mandi) does not have their own college campus. (Try to take seat in solan or hamirpur campus)
Remarks :
As Ys parmar college of horticulture and forestry is well known government college established in 1985. The course helps us to knlw more about our state Himachal Pradesh which will help in further competitive exams. Also courses like horticulture, biotech etc have a huge scope in future and offers secured jobs. This college has 3 different branches in solan, hamirpur and mandi district.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This university offers different courses like horticulture, forestry, biotech, food tech, fishery. Courses for all the students of bsc, msc amd phd are available. I choose this course forestry because there are many opportunities for students to do good in competitive exams like for forest rangers and HAS or banking etc. All the Professors are phd qualified. Some have more theoratical way of teaching and some take us to field work. There are mid term exams that are held in oct and April month and then finals ate in December and June. Difficulty level is not very high students can easily pass the exam if they study properly for once.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Students with normal seat who qualified entrance exam have 25000-27000 rupee per semester and students with paid seat have 62000-65000 rupee per semester fees. It is easier for you if you have quota of tribal or ex service man .
Campus Life :
Life at campus is good if you have a good friend circle. Everybody is busy in their own life. There are different clubs like dance club, music, writing , decoration, sports club and many more. Fest happens once a year in may month but other small and big functions are there through out the year. Library is also there with good environment. Classes have ac and smart bords and comfortable benches . For extracurricular there are cultural meets (dance, music, speech etc) and sports meet (games like basketball, volley ball, cricket athletics etc) . Also there are study tours in every semester where students basically enjoy and explore different places of state and country .

Placements are decent. Eligibility is typically at CGPA 6.0 or higher. Recruiters include TCS, Infosys ,Oracle, Wellsfargo etc.Highest package this year reached around 3 crores per annum as it was a foreign offer.

placement are good many cse students have package in crores i think cse nad ece branch is good but other branch package is around 10 lakh if i would suggest students i suggest go for cse or ece branch because in the era of artificial intelligence nad machine learning these two branches are booming and the package are also best in these branches you can also try for gate exam after the civil mechanical or electrical you can get jib in public plus private jobs

The placement opportunities are given by institute. There is a placement committee. A few visited recruiters are ICICI,HDFC, DE Shaw, Deloitte, EY, etc. the average package of IIM sirmaur ranges around 14-15 LPA. All students get placed and is supported by institute.
