BAMU Admission Dates 2027

BAMU uses Maharashtra state entrance tests and centralised counselling for professional courses. B.Tech admission is based on MHT-CET, MBA admission uses MAH-MBA-CET, and MCA admission uses MAH-MCA-CET. Campus PG courses in Arts and Science are generally filled through graduation merit under the university admission cycle.

BAMU Courses and Fees

BAMU runs more than 120 programmes directly at the campus, including UG, PG, M.Phil., Ph.D., certificate, and diploma courses. Through its 428 affiliated colleges, it also controls academic and examination work for many UG seats in engineering, commerce, arts, and science across Marathwada.

Other key specialisations include M.Sc in Artificial Intelligence with a fee of INR 48,665, Nanotechnology at INR 42,936, and Food Technology at INR 82,936. The certificate and diploma list has more than 15 short courses in language proficiency, tourism, psychology, and social sector subjects, with fees from INR 2,741 to INR 34,500.

BAMU Admission Process

For professional courses, BAMU campus admissions follow the Maharashtra state centralised admission system. PG courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce mainly use marks scored in graduation. Ph.D. admission is based on the university PET, which means Ph.D. Entrance Test.

B.Tech (Food Technology and Pharma Technology)

• Eligibility: Students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised board. The minimum aggregate is 45 percent, or 40 percent for reserved category students.
• Exam: A valid MHT-CET score is needed.
• Selection: Admission is through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. Seats are allotted round by round on the online CAP portal.

MBA and MBA Executive

• Eligibility for MBA: Applicants need a graduation degree in any stream with at least 50 percent aggregate. Reserved category students need 45 percent.
• Exam: BAMU accepts MAH-MBA-CET. CAT and CMAT scores are also considered during state CAP rounds.
• Selection: Students go through CAP counselling, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview at the institute.
• MBA Executive: This course needs graduation and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. Selection is through MAH-MBA-CET or direct application.

MCA

For MCA, students must have a graduation degree in any stream with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level and at least 50 percent aggregate. Admission is based on MAH-MCA-CET followed by CAP counselling. The course is conducted on the university campus and is affiliated to BAMU.

PG Arts, Science, and Commerce

MA, M.Sc, M.Com, and similar campus PG courses use graduation marks in the relevant subject for admission. Some departments also hold an entrance test or consider the BAMU PET. Each department releases its own merit list, and seats are limited.

Ph.D. Programme

BAMU conducts Ph.D. admission twice a year under UGC rules. Students with NET, JRF, or GATE scores do not have to take the BAMU PET. Other eligible students must clear the BAMU Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) and then appear for a Departmental Research Committee interview. Research scholars begin work under registered supervisors in more than 30 departments after their topics are approved.

BAMU Placements

BAMU mainly works as a teaching and affiliating public university. Direct placements on the campus are limited because many programmes are in Arts, Science, and Management rather than being placement-cell-heavy technical courses. A large number of students move towards government services such as MPSC, UPSC, and SSC, competitive exams, research fellowships, and academic careers.

Professional courses such as MBA, MCA, M.Sc Computer Science, and Forensic Science record some direct industry hiring. As per available 2024 campus data, the highest package was INR 3.36 LPA and the average package was INR 2.40 LPA for direct campus hires. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HCL, and Cognizant have engaged BAMU campus students, mainly for MCA and IT-related PG programmes.

BAMU Rankings

BAMU appears in national ranking frameworks. In the University category of NIRF, it stood in the 151-200 band in 2025. The Week placed BAMU at 52nd among Indian universities in 2025.

BAMU has NAAC Grade A+ accreditation. The UGC recognises it as a university under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, so its degrees are valid for government service recruitment and further studies.

BAMU Scholarships

BAMU students can apply for Maharashtra state scholarships and central government schemes. Most state scholarships are handled through the MahaDBT portal, which is Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer. Central schemes are processed through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

BAMU vs SRTMU vs North Maharashtra University

Students from Marathwada and North Maharashtra often compare BAMU with Swami Ramanand Teertha Marathwada University (SRTMU), Nanded, and North Maharashtra University (NMU), Jalgaon. All three are UGC-recognised state public universities in Maharashtra and serve similar groups of students for PG, Ph.D., and affiliated UG admissions.

Among these three universities, BAMU has the strongest NAAC grade and the highest NIRF band. This shows its wider course range and stronger research profile. SRTMU and NMU serve different parts of Maharashtra and may suit students who prefer local university affiliation with less competition for BAMU campus seats.
