Amala Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) was established in 2003. The college is recognized by NABH and Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS). AIMS Kerala offers MBBS at the undergraduate level, MD and MS at the postgraduate level. Apart from UG and PG courses, the college also offers DM, M.Ch. and Dr. NB under the PG Super specialty courses. Admission to UG and PG programs depends on the NEET Rank list and further allotment of seats is done by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations(CEE), Kerala. Acceptance to specialty courses like DM and M. Ch depends on the counseling rounds conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) in New Delhi.

AIMS Kerala offers MBBS as a 5.5 year course at the undergraduate level. The course fees is INR 7.11 Lakhs for the first year. As for placements, students get internship opportunities where the college pays a stipend of up to INR 15,000 per month. However, there are innumerable opportunities for medical graduates after completion of MBBS and many students opt for pursuing higher studies as well.
