dental students have to do compulsory one-year internships at colleges and rural areas around the college. usually the interns get paid around 3k per month. students do not get any placement opportunities because dentists do not get hired into some companies like engineers. during internships it familiarises with the real world

What I Liked

Campus environment is good and lecture are too
Festival is celebrated even yearly cultural program are held

What I didn’t like

Seating arrangements can be better then now
Nowadays lats of sound in the campus every day

Placement Experience:

After completing the course you can either work in a clinic of your own or under someone for getting experience or you can go for further studies that is masters in India or abroad , if you are planning for masters in India you need to write th neet pg exam and qualify

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is usually part of your college course that should be done in the same respective college with a stipend of rupees 3500 per month which helps the student to improve their patient interaction and clinical skills

Life in AJIDS

What I Liked

AJ is located nearby to the city which makes it easier for the students to travel to the city and maintain a healthy social life outside college , also the campus has a very good infrastructure which was recently renewed with better dental equipments and new dental chairs
The faculty in AJ are very well qualified and have an incredible experience in their respective fields with a degree in both bds and mds , they help the students in excelling in the field on dentistry by teaching them from their daily clinical experience

What I didn’t like

The college have a very less patient flow that makes a student hard to complete their quota , the students has to go look for their patients and find them and convince them to come for the treatments
The hostel rooms are not very clean for the amount that's been taken , also the mess food can be improved as lot of students face health issues due to the mess food , also the curfew timing is very less that's by 7 the students need to be back to their hostels

Placement Experience:

There is no placement particularly as the course includes internship too , you get paid stipend of rupees 3500 each month which isn't enough but the main reason for internship is you to get your maximum patient interaction in order to improve your clinical skills and perform procedures independently

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is part of your college course that is 4 plus one year internship with a stipend of 3500 per month , you learn a lot in your intership and improve your clinical skills and patient interaction, you also learn about diagnosing and treating a patient accordingly

Be the dentist you want!

What I Liked

I like the mess food. It was worth for the money paid
Also I love the fact of having gym within campus which made it easy. There is a basketball court too

What I didn’t like

So far I dont think there is any complain

Placement Experience:

There is no placement or any job opportunities in this field. Its always setting up your career or you find your path.you can either join a private clinic and get some good experience under a dentist. Or else you can do some general dentistry 3 months course and then build up your own practice. Or else you can do MDS and get a masters degree. You can also do fellowship courses.

Internships Opportunities:

The course is of 4 years plus 1 year compulsary intership in college. They pay stipend during internship of 3.5k per month. The stipend increases after certain period of time. Intership moreover teached a lot of things since we get hands on on patient for an entire year

What I Liked

The infrastructure is really good and is recently renewed
New dental chairs are provided along with new dental equipment, CAD CAM room is also newly available

What I didn’t like

The college is pretty expensive and does not provide with basic dental supplies to use in daily college life
The facility can be grumpy at times , you need to be self dependent and motivated to stay in the college

Placement Experience:

Internship is to be done in the same college , it's a 4 plus 1 year internship course and cannot be done anywhere else , stipend of rupees 3500 is given every month to the interns . Internship is more of a learning process as it gives you exposure to multiple patients

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is done in the same college with a stipend of 3500 per month , u need to attend internship compulsory as you get to learn a lot in this one year with a lot of patient exposure and clinical skills development

Life in AJIDS

What I Liked

The best part about the college infrastructure is that the college recently renewed their infrastructure with new dental chairs and equipment’s also the floors wallls everything is renews giving it a very fresh look
The Campus is located close to the city of mangalore which makes it easy for the students to travel to city’s for various purposes also the area around the college is very student friendly as there are various staying facilities like PG and flats also lot of restaurants in affordable prices

What I didn’t like

The faculty don’t care much about what u understand or learn you need to be self dependent and learn from the lectures and guide yourself or take help from the seniors .. it’s not like school where u can seek help anytime for small things from ur teachers ,,
The college has a less number of cultural events that last hardly for a month ,, no much of inter college events ,, also the patient flow is less in few departments which makes it hard for the students to complete their quota and they need to find their own patients in order to complete the quota

Placement Experience:

Once you complete your bachelor degree for dental u can work under a clinic or open your clinic ,, incase u wanna study further u have to clear the Neet PG exam for the admissions of specialised courses ,, incase u wanna study abroad after ur bds they have their own entrance exams which u need to clear ,,

Internships Opportunities:

Internship of one year needs to be completed in the same college you did ur bds ,, stipend is not provided if it is it will be around 3.5 k per months only .. internship is part of the course that’s 4 plus 1 year internship in same college

What I Liked

What I didn’t like

Boys cant grow beard or keep beard in this collage
Mbbs collage and bds collage are a hill far, student need to walk

Placement Experience:

AJ is one of the most famous colleges in south india. Including MBBS, many courses are available in this college. For mbbs and bds there is a vast difference in stipend. For mobs is occurs more than bds

Currently, I’m in my third year. I have to do an internship after clearing the 4th year exams only. As AJIDS Collage is under RGUHS University, students can pursue internships any where or any college under RGUHS University

What I Liked

The infrastructure is good. Provides latest equipment.
Under the care of top faculties and surgeon one will be able to work with their full potential

What I didn’t like

The college has a hectic time schedule and working hours
The library works only from morning 8 to night 9

Placement Experience:

One must have to fully clear the course for being eligible for the placement. There is placement in the college for a year and can do placements in other dental clinics while doing the same .The placement is done with the care and tutoring of highly professional doctors.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship in the college lasts for a year.The students are exposed to various surgical strategies and innovative surgeries under professional surgeons .During the course of internship the students earn allowing them to take care of their basic needs

What I Liked

Campus life help to socialize with doctors and other technicians from the profession the college is well equipped with the latest technology and infrastructure is good
There are innovative surgeries and wide varieties of medical strategies to provide the patients with the happy smile

What I didn’t like

Fee structure and heavy working hours.
The college doesn't provide a 24/7 hours library

Placement Experience:

There are wide range of opportunities hospitals and hospital across India the salary range from 15000 to 100000 based on our skills. The college provides Medical camps in rural areas for the needy and poor for free

Internships Opportunities:

Internship are available in the college for a year with valve certificate. There is a Stipend of minimum 3000 to 5000 rupees per month in college and extra for working outside in clinics and hospitals under professional doctors
