I have always been interested in biology and art and dentistry is the perfect blend of the two. The faculty teaching have all done their masters and few have done their phd too. The teaching methods are unique, we have quizzes presentations, seminars, interactive classes to help us study. The exams are usually once in 3 months and the exams are not very difficult if studied for properly.
Manipal college of Dental Sciences has been ranked 11th in the NIRF ranking and it provides a lot of opportunities for students. This college is a perfect mix of curricular and co-curricular activities. I chose MCODS mangalore because It’s one of the best dental colleges which also makes a good point on the cv if you want to travel abroad in the future, they have a lot of events and conferences and competitions which helps a student to gain and improve quite a lot of skills
Read Full ReviewHonestly speaking, I wanted a government MBBS seat but since my score was good enough, I was eligible for a 100% scholarship here for the BDS course. But at this point, I am more than happy with my decision to choose BDS and above that this college. We have a very good teaching system with smart learning and all lectures are recorded too so if we miss class there’s no issue. All the stuff taught is uploaded on a college website where we can access it, so taking notes is also not necessary. Talking about scholarships, there are 5 scholarships as of now that I’m aware of- 1. Kalam pai- for students attaining NEET rank under 10k (100% scholarship + ?5000) 2. Freeship- NEET rank under 50k(100% scholarship) 3. Scholars scholarship- NEET rank under 1lakh(50% scholarship) 4. Konkani-speaking students get a 10% scholarship 5. Children of alumni from any of MAHE colleges get a 10% scholarship Also, financial assistance is available in the form of EMI payments, as per my knowledge.
For BDS courses in India, it is one of the top colleges. Even our university, MAHE is one of the recognized universities globally. Admission is based on NEET score, above 200 is probably enough to get admission here. I shouldn’t say a negative aspect, but yes the holidays are very few. We get a total of 2 vacations a year, of 15-18 days each. And 75% attendance is also mandatory so you can’t miss a lot of classes.
Read Full Reviewthe faculty are really kind and played an important factor in my decision making process moteover the research projects which are held in our college really i sparks creativity and knowledge in me and moreover the faculty is super chill and friendly and it doesn’t feel like a teacher student relationship they r more like parents over here
we don’t have placements in dentistry in general but the graduates from this college actually grow up to be good if not the best dentists country. as interns we r payed around 20k per mont. finally we are exposed to be the best of the best
Read Full ReviewAll the faculty are highly qualified. Many of them have books published under their names. In the first year, there are 3 sessional exams and 1 university exam. The exams are not that difficult if you study.
After 4 years into the course, the 5th year is of internship where the college provides a stipend of 20k/month. After the b course, I plan to carry on with my studies with a master's.
