A review to JMC: Beginning of your medical journey

What I Liked

The pristine focus on academics is very good, it makes for a healthy study environment.
The medical exposure here is very rich and provides a lot of knowledge.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure can be improved way much better, the hostel facility for one is very poor.
Secondly there isn't much support for sports or other activites so it's all about academics only.

Placement Experience:

Since it's a government hospital there are no placement opportunities on campus, but however due to the vast exposure given students graduating from here have a very good placement chance with students working in AIIMS too.

Remarks:

This college was chosen by me due to its academic and clinical reputation. I had various options but since this college is well established with great faculty hence this was an easy choice. I got admission in this college through NEET-UG, the college had a cut off at 590 in 2019.

The honest review

What I Liked

The hospital attached is very good and equipped with services
Faculty is very skilled and professional. Campus is very beautiful in rainy season and it has a silent environment

What I didn’t like

There is not much good infrastructure of college buildings. There is lack of facilities in boys hostel .
Campus doesnt have a good playground and personalised canteen and the JHALAWAR city is also not that good and big and the faculty is decent

Placement Experience:

There is only a 1 year paid mandatory internship available in the attached hospital to the college. The college does not provide any placements. It all depends on the government's vanities. You can work in private hospitals after the course for the average salary of 50000rs per month but it highly depends on the experience and the state. You can also prepare for the neet pg and if u pass it then u can work in a government hospital as a resident doctor with an average stipend of 80000 to 90000 rs per month. I will surely go for the next pg exam

Remarks:

The college faculty is good and it has an attached hospital so there is good patient exposure for students but the city is not that good. I took the neet ug exam for admission and I got 630 marks out of 730 to get a government seat in this college but as of now the cutoff for this college is very high because of NEET exam cutoff increasing every year drastically. I prepared for the neet exam from Aakash Institute Jaipur Rajasthan

Jhalawar Medical College (A honest opinion)

What I Liked

The best part of college is that you are all hyperconnected in the college as Jhalawar is a small place. And even if you go outside the college you will meet someone of your college at any restaurant or hanging out place.
Studies are also quite good and faculties are quite cooperative.

What I didn’t like

The college sucks in the extracurricular activities . Football ground is very band ,no basket ball court , badminton court is not covered only nets are there.
Campus Life is not good as the campus is quite small as compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

Generally there is no culture of placement in mbbs. Either people go to pursue higher studies or clear government exam to become medical officer. Some people also start their own private practice and start earning. Also few people pursue civil services or MBA or go foreign for pursuing higher studies or practicing.

Remarks:

The college ranks 7th among the government medical colleges in Rajasthan. Academics of the college are quite good. It was established in year 2009. The bad aspect includes bad campus infrastructure, nearly no extra curricular activities and jhalawar is a remote district lacking connectivity to other places. The admission is purely based on the rank secured by the candidate in NEET ( national eligibility cum entrance test) conducted on all India level by NTA(national testing agency) ,the admission is direct not involving any interview or group discussion. I prepared for NEET by taking online coaching from Allen career institute kota.
