An honest review for PharmD - Sumandeep

What I Liked

College infrastructure is quite good. The roads and buildings are attractive. It makes you feel like you are in a good college.
The hospital of college is one of the best hospital in Gujrat. The patient flow is quite decent which gives you on hand experience. Availability of every facility helps you learn something new everyday.

What I didn’t like

The parking. They have got 3 different stickers for 3 different parking zones and parking is quite far.
The guards aren't nice at all. They are very rude.

Placement Experience:

There are no placements. There is no support. All they do is share job vacancies sreenshot from linkedin. One can find jobs from the reference provided by their seniors. Otherwise one can't expect any support from college or faculties.

Internships Opportunities:

One can find internship on their own. The allowed period is of 3 months. I opted an internship in HCG Cancer hospital. The requirement is, it should be an NABH accredited hospital. There is no stipend. In few hospitals, you have to pay them to give you internship. The internships tasks are clinical based. Take ward round, find ADRs, pill count and documentation are the daily responsibilies in internship.

What I Liked

Vibrant Campus Environment: The campus is always buzzing with energy, offering a perfect blend of academic focus and extracurricular activities. From student clubs to cultural fests, there's always something happening, making it easy to find a niche and grow beyond academics.
Supportive Faculty: The professors are not only knowledgeable but also approachable and supportive. They encourage curiosity, guide us through challenges, and are invested in both our academic and personal growth, which makes learning a truly enriching experience.

What I didn’t like

Limited Practical Exposure: While the theoretical curriculum was comprehensive, there was a noticeable lack of hands-on experience. The labs and workshops, though present, didn’t offer enough practical exposure, which I felt was crucial for a deeper understanding of the subjects.
Outdated Infrastructure: The campus facilities, especially the classrooms and library, were somewhat outdated. Modern learning tools and technology were lacking, which made it harder to stay updated with industry trends and innovations.

Placement Experience:

Placements are definitely provided from our college after completion of the final year and placement interviews. The percentage is fairly high. My plans after getting the degree are to further continue my studies in bioinformatics as masters. I wish to join the research and development.

Internships Opportunities:

No, college doesn't provide intership on the early stages of the degree. Internships are provided in the in house hospital named Dhiraj only. They are provided in the final year which is the 7th and 8th semester.
