Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Admission Process

NEET UG is compulsory for MBBS, BDS, BAMS and BHMS admission. Students seeking an MBBS seat at this deemed university must join the MCC counselling process after the NEET UG result. MCC, rather than the university, allots seats during its counselling rounds, and Sumandeep Vidyapeeth does not conduct a separate MBBS entrance examination.

MBBS Admission Process

  • Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 17 years old at admission and must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The minimum combined score is 50% for the general category and 40% for SC, ST and OBC students.
  • Entrance: Every applicant, including anyone seeking a deemed-university seat, must qualify for NEET UG. No exemption is available.
  • Counselling: Applicants participate in MCC counselling for deemed and central universities. The process includes Round 1, Round 2, a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round, generally held from July to October in the admission year.
  • Seat categories: At deemed-university fee rates, 85% of seats are under the General quota and 15% are under the NRI quota.

BDS Admission Process

BDS applicants also use their NEET UG scores and take part in MCC counselling. Private deemed universities usually have a lower minimum NEET UG cutoff for BDS than for MBBS. All DCI-approved seats are allotted according to the MCC schedule.

BAMS and BHMS Admission Process

Selection for BAMS and BHMS depends on NEET UG performance. Seat allotment is managed by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC), whose counselling calendar generally follows a July to October period similar to MCC.

MD/MS Admission Process

Applicants to MD and MS programmes need NEET PG scores and must attend MCC PG counselling. MCC uses merit to allot specialities for postgraduate deemed-university seats. For DM and M.Ch super-speciality admission, students must qualify for NEET SS and enter MCC super-speciality counselling.

MDS Admission Process

Admission to the Master of Dental Surgery programmes uses NEET PG scores and MCC PG counselling. Separate seat matrices are issued for the different dental specialities, and DCI-approved MDS seats follow MCC's dental counselling timetable.

Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Campus and Infrastructure

The campus is in Piparia village, Waghodia Taluka, 18 km from Vadodara's city centre along the Vadodara-Halol highway. Its connected blocks accommodate the colleges of medicine, dentistry, ayurveda, homeopathy, pharmacy, nursing and physiotherapy. Because the university is in a residential area, many students live in the campus hostels or nearby Piparia.

Dhiraj Hospital, previously known as Sumandeep Medical College and Hospital, serves as the university's main teaching hospital. MBBS and nursing students receive patient exposure and clinical instruction across its specialities. BDS and MDS students train at the dental college's separate teaching hospital, while pharmacy and allied health departments use their own laboratories.

Facilities include separate hostels for male and female students, a central library with digital resources, seminar halls, canteens and simulation laboratories for nursing and allied health training. Students and staff also have access to medical care at all hours because the hospital is located on campus.

Ans. Common choices include preparing for NEET PG to enter an MD or MS programme, taking a Junior Residency at a government hospital, working as a medical officer in a private hospital or starting general practice after registration with the state medical council.
