LLB Hons Admission Process

You can join in LLB Hons Course by any one of the two processes available namely through an entrance examination or by merit. There will be many examinations available depending on the university in which the candidate is willing to join.

The admission process involving a candidate to join into LLB Hons Course includes either merit-based or entrance examination-based. Both of them are described in detail below for your knowledge.

Merit-Based Admission Process

Merit-based admission will be done by submitting the required documents along with the application form after duly filling in all the required details to the admission officer.

The list of documents that the candidate might have to carry along with the application form are

• Mark sheet for both 10th class and 12th class
• Certificate showing that the candidate has passed both 10th and 12th classes respectively
• Category certificate if any applicable
• 2 or 3 passport size photographs
• Character certificate
• Migration certificate if applicable.

Entrance Based Admission Process

The steps that you might have to follow in order to get admitted into LLB Hons course through entrance based admission process is as follows

• The entrance examinations vary depending on the college or the university that you are willing to join.
• Few such entrance examinations include CLAT, LSAT, and KLEE.
• Once the candidate is qualified, the university will decide the shortlisted candidates for further rounds like counseling, interview, or group discussion depending on the university.
• The date and time of the candidate along with the venue will be informed for counseling and candidates have to carry the following documents for counseling.
• The candidate will be allotted a seat in the available college depending on his/her rank and the availability of seats in that particular college.

LLB Hons Eligibility Criteria

In order to get into the college or university to become a lawyer or to study the LLB Hons course, the candidate should satisfy all these below eligibility criteria without any doubt.

• The candidate has to pass 10+2 in order to join LLB Hons in any subject and preferably arts as for an art student it will be easy to understand more law concepts.
• The pass percentage of the 12th should be a minimum of 45% but for the reservation category candidates, it can be 40%.
• There is no specific age limit in order to pursue LLB Hons. You can try the examination any number of times in your lifetime.
• For a few institutions, there are additional criteria in which the university will give the minimum marks that have to be achieved by the candidate in his +2 failing which he can not be admitted to that university.
