MEd Admission 2023 is based on entrance exams for most universities. DUET, BHU PET, CUCET.

  • Calicut University, MANUU Hyderabad, etc are currently accepting M.Ed applications for the academic session 2023.

MEd Admission 2023: Eligibility

The following prerequisites must be satisfied by applicants in order to be admitted by their preferred college or institution:

  • Complete an undergraduate degree program (B.A., BSc, B.Ed, B.Com, etc.) from a UGC-approved university or college with a minimum qualifying percentage of 50–60%.
  • The minimum percentage requirement is relaxed by 5% for applicants who fall under one of the reserved categories (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, or Candidates with Disabilities).
  • Applicants with degrees like B.El.Ed, BA Education, BSc Education, and MSc Education may be eligible with a 55% minimum requirement from a government college.

MEd Admission 2023: Selection Criteria

  • Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in order to apply for the course
  • Selection to MEd courses in Indian colleges is based on both merit and entrance exam. 
  • Merit-based admissions are provided to candidates based on marks obtained in UG degree.
  • Entrance-based admissions are provided based on scores obtained on entrance tests held for the MEd courses.

MEd Admission 2023: How to Apply?

The following steps outline the admissions process for the M.Ed. course:

  • Before registering for the course, candidates must review the eligibility requirements to avoid having their applications rejected.

Step 1: Visit the institute's official website or the admissions office as your first step. Pick up or download the application for admission online. Candidates' registered email addresses and mobile numbers will both receive login information.

Step 2: The following step is to complete the application form and upload or attach the necessary documents in accordance with the instructions and requirements stated.

Step 3: Candidates should review their applications to determine if any changes need to be made before submitting them.

Step 4: The fourth and final step is to pay the fees.

Step 5: After submitting the application successfully, a printout of the form and the fee receipt should be kept for future use.

  • After the application period has ended, candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance on the entrance exam or the merit list that has been made public.
  • The institution will announce a list of names of various candidates who have qualified for the entrance exam in the case of the entrance examination. The qualified applicants are then invited to the subsequent counseling session.
  • The candidates who are ultimately chosen, whether through a merit list or an entrance exam, are then able to fill their seats by paying the admission fees.

Ques. Can a candidate go for an M.Ed degree even after pursuing M.A. in Education?

Ans. Yes, a candidate can pursue an M.Ed after earning an M.A. in education. The difference is that an M.A. in education does not allow for specialization, but an M.Ed allows for specialization in a variety of areas, including elementary education, gender studies, guidance & counseling, and more.

Ques. Is an M.Ed degree valid abroad?

Ans. Yes, the M.Ed. is recognized abroad. In fact, candidates for the M.Ed. can quickly find employment abroad in a formal educational setting.

Ques. What is the duration of the M.Ed course?

Ans. Most colleges and universities offer a 2-year M.Ed (Master of Education) program. There are 4 semesters in the 2-year course. For the M.Ed. program, some universities and colleges also offer one-year courses.

Ques. What are some non-teaching careers after an M.Ed degree one can go in for?

Ans.
