What is AP LAWCET?

AP LAWCET is a state-level entrance examination. It is conducted by Shri Krishnadevaraya University, on behalf of APSCHE, Hyderabad. AP LAWCET serves as the gateway for students to get admission to top Law colleges within the state. The examination is conducted online. Candidates who pass the examination can seek admission in various UG/ PG Law courses in both Govt. and Private institutions in Andhra Pradesh.

AP LAWCET 2022 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for AP LAWCET are different for both 3 years Law program and 5 years Law program. Therefore, candidates must ensure they fulfill all the criteria for the program they want to apply to. Here are the eligibility criteria for both types of programs.

Eligibility Criteria for 3 Years Law Program

  • In order to be eligible for a 3 year Law course, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognized university/ board.
  • Candidates appearing for their final semester are also eligible to appear for the exam.
  • Candidates must score at least 45% marks to apply for the exam. For SC/ ST candidates, there is a marks relaxation of 5% while OBC candidates have a relaxation of 3% marks.

Eligibility Criteria for 5 Years Law Program

  • Candidates must have completed their 10 + 2 or any equivalent diploma course from any recognized board/ university.
  • Candidates appearing in their final examination are also allowed to apply for the exam.
  • General category students must have the least score of 45% marks, whereas for OBC candidates the marks requirement is 42% and 40% for SC/ ST candidates.

AP LAWCET 2022 Exam Pattern

The AP LAWCET examination is conducted in a computer-based online mode. Given below is the complete layout of the exam pattern for AP LAWCET.

  • The examination will consist of objective-type MCQ-based questions.
  • There are a total of 120 questions in the exam.
  • Time duration of the examination is 90 minutes. Candidates need to complete their papers within the given time. The portal will automatically close once the time is up.
  • The examination basically consists of 3 subjects: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Aptitude test.
  • For each correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded. There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions.

AP LAWCET exam consists of questions from various topics. AP LAWCET 2022 Document Verification Process

AP LAWCET 2022 Cut-off

The cut-off for AP LAWCET 2022 will be decided by the authority after conducting the entrance examination. The cut-off is decided based on the factors such as the difficulty of the question paper, total availability of seats in colleges, number of appearing students, and number of passing students. 

In order to qualify in the AP LAWCET 2022 examinations, the minimum cut-off is mentioned below. However, a new cut-off will be introduced by the authority after conducting the examination.

  • Thousands of candidates appear for the AP LAWCET examination each year to seek admissions to the top Law colleges in Andhra Pradesh. 
  • As per AP LAWCET 2021 results, about 89.5% of the total candidates have qualified for the entrance test. 
  • In AP LAWCET 2019, a total of 11,497 candidates appeared for the entrance exam. Out of which 10,831 candidates were qualified for the counseling process, which makes the passing percentage around 94.2% of the total candidates appeared. 


Ques. What is the maximum age limit to be eligible for the AP LAWCET 2022 examination?

Ans: As per the official announcement, there is no age limit for the candidates to be eligible for the AP LAWCET examination. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned above can appear for their preferred Law courses in the examination. 

Ques. Is there any negative marking on wrong attempts in AP LAWCET 2022 Examination?

Ans: No, there are no negative markings for any wrong attempts or unanswered questions. Each question will carry a weightage of 1 mark and the total marks for the AP LAWCET examination is 120. 

Ques. Can we fill the AP LAWCET 2022 Application Form in an offline mode?

Ans: No, the application form will be available only in the online mode. Candidates who wish to appear for the examination can fill the form from the official website of APSCHE by the 1st week of May 2022 tentatively.
