DU JAT 2023 Exam, previously conducted by NTA on behalf of Delhi University for admission to BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), BA (Hons), Business Economics, and BBA, has been Scapped. Instead, admission to all UG and PG programs will now be based on CUET 2023.

CUET 2023 will be conducted online from May 21 – 31, 2023, and its question paper will consist of three sections. Sections IA and Section IB will be language-specific sections, Section II will be a domain-specific section based on the course chosen by the candidate, and Section III will be a General Ability Section.

According to latest news and reports Delhi University will release notification for DU JAT 2023 tentatively by April 2023. Most of the important dates for the exam remains same every year and are listed below:

DU JAT 2023 Courses Offered

DU Joint Admission Test is responsible for admission in DU and its 12 different affiliated colleges. DU JAT is an undergraduate entrance level examination for Commerce related courses. DU JAT 2023 exam offers seats in courses that are listed below: 

  • BMS (Bachelor of Management Science)
  • BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)
  • BA Hons.
  • Business Economics Hons.

DU JAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Every candidate must go through the Eligibility Criteria before applying in DU JAT 2023. DU has a strict policy of following the Eligibility Criteria and cancels the candidate of the exam being held. Delhi University has a set of eligibility criteria for admission into under graduate courses via DU JAT which are as follows: 

  • The candidate must have at least 60 percent in their class 12th CBSE or any equivalent exam from a valid board. This is for candidates belonging to General category only
  • For candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC, ST or OBC get 10 percent relaxation in their minimum percent required to be eligible for the exam. Their cut off is 55 percent.
  • Candidates currently studying in class 12th are eligible to apply.

Application Process

The complete Application form process is online. Filling of the DU JAT 2023 form can be done through the official website of DU and can be done by following the given steps: 

  • Visit the official website of DU
  • Firstly enter all your details and complete the registration process.
  • After successful registration candidates will receive their registration ID and password in the registered email or phone number.
  • Log in using your valid details provided by the administration
  • Fill the personal details, communication details, educational qualification and etc
  • Select the course for which you want to apply for
  • Pay the respective fee for the application and print out the receipt for the payment for future purposes.
  • Candidates will be asked to upload documents for verification in specified format only.

Payment for the Application fee can be done only through online mode. Reserved category candidates have to pay nearly 50 percent less than the general category candidates.

DU JAT 2023 Exam Centre

Exam Centres for DU JAT are present in almost all major cities of a state. Candidates are given the choice to give preference for their respective exams in the city of their choice based on availability. List of cities in DU JAT 2023 are:

DU JAT 2023 Admit Card

The admit card for DU JAT 2023 will be released weeks before the exam. The admit card is released on the official website of DU. It is a mandatory document to carry for the exam. Candidates can get their admit card by following the below steps: -

  • Visit the official website of DU
  • Enter the log in details provided by the administrator: User ID and Password
  • The admit card will be shown on the screen along with details like exam city and centre, date and etc.
  • Download the admit card to bring it during the exam.

DU JAT 2023 Exam Pattern

DU JAT will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) in online mode in Computer based mode (CBT). The questions will be objective type and a candidate will get a total of 100 questions from 4 different sections of the paper. Each section of the paper will have 25 questions. The question paper will be available to candidates in only a single language (English).

Candidates will be awarded +3 for every correct answer whereas in case of negative marking scheme of -1/3 is there which means for every wrong answer a candidate loses 1 mark.

DU JAT 2023 Preparation Tips

Every candidate should cover all the important topics mentioned above and also practice all the previous year papers. NTA (National Testing Agency) releases sets of mock tests before the actual exam. Candidates should definitely appear in that. Course books are more than enough to score good in DU JAT

DU JAT 2023 Answer Key

DU JAT Answer Key for the previous year was uploaded on the official website of NTA (nta.ac.in) Candidates can challenge any question if they have any doubts. For each question challenged the candidate has to pay Rs 200. For Answer Key follow these steps: 

  • Go to the official website of NTA.
  • Log in using your credentials.
  • Download the Answer key and match your answer against them.

In case a candidate wants to challenge a question follows these steps: 

  • Log in using the credentials.
  • Go to the next window and click on Objection.
  • Enter the details and the question number of the objection.
  • Give your reason for the objection.
  • Complete the payment for your challenges.
  • The challenge will be registered and the candidate will receive a confirmation of the challenge raised.

DU JAT 2023 Result

  • The Final merit list is prepared based on the basis of percentile acquired by a candidate.
  • DU considers 64 percent of the total marks from the exam and 35 percent of the marks from class 12th exam
  • DU has introduced a Normalization Process to calculate scores so that no candidate is at advantage or disadvantage.
  • The scores are obtained after normalizing the applicant’s marks using the equi-marginal method i.e. Equi-percentile score= {[(Total no. of candidates in a shift) – (score of the candidate in the shift)] / (Total no. of candidates – 1)} x 100.
  • After this DU releases the final result.

  • Visit the NTA’s official website.
  • Click on the link appearing there regarding DU JAT 2023.
  • The merit list appears.
  • Download your scorecard by logging in using the credentials- Form Number and Date of Birth.
  • Download the scorecard.

DU JAT 2023 Counseling

Candidates who pass the cut off criteria for DU JAT 2023 can appear for counseling. DU releases the schedule for online seat appointment on the website so the students can check it from there without any hassle.

DU JAT 2023 Cut Off

Colleges of DU release cut off for all categories separately. Candidates have to take admission within 2 days of the release. DU generally releases 3 cut offs after checking the vacancy of the seats available.

Candidates whose name appears on the cut off list have to appear in GDPI (Group Discussion and Personal Interview) rounds conducted by DU itself.

The cut offs are different for different categories of students.

DU JAT 2023 FAQs

Ques. What is the difficulty level of this exam?

Ans. DU JAT is moderate in terms of difficulty and is mostly based on topics from class 12th. Topics and knowledge of class 12th is enough for DU JAT.

Ques. Is there any policy for non residents of Delhi?

Ans. DU JAT has no such policy. However sometimes residents from Delhi can get up to 5 percent relaxation in the cut off. Citizens from all over India can apply for the exam.

Ques. What is the minimum mark to qualify DU JAT?

Ans. Seeing the increasing competition, 220 marks or above and more than 90 percent should be enough to qualify for the exam. Weightage of the entrance exam is 65 percent whereas for class 12th result is 35 percent.

Ques. How many colleges accept the score of DU JAT?

Ans. A total of 16 colleges accept DU JAT scores though every college has a different cut off. In addition, each college has a different cut off for students from different categories.

Ques. Is the application process different for each college and course?

Ans. No, there is only one application form to be filled for DU JAT 2023.

Ques. In case my application form is rejected. Will I get the application fee back?

Ans. No, the application fee once submitted will not be refunded back. However if you take admission and then later choose to quit DU within the rules a refund is issued according to the rules of UGC.
