What's New in JET 2025?
JAIN Entrance Test 2027 applications are open for undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programmes. The university has not announced the 2027 test dates yet. JET dates, paper pattern and selection steps differ by course, so an MBA applicant does not take the same paper as a BTech or BCom applicant.
The application is completed online. Some courses use a written test followed by an interview or another selection round. BTech and MBA applicants can also use accepted national or state-level entrance scores in place of the JET written test, subject to the university's rules.

What is JAIN Entrance Test?
JAIN Entrance Test, commonly called JET, is used for admission to courses offered by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). It covers undergraduate, postgraduate, BTech and MBA admissions. The course chosen in the application decides the eligibility rules, question paper and later selection rounds.
Most JET papers check a mix of language, basic mathematics, subject knowledge, reasoning and current affairs. This mix is not the same for every course. Design, fine arts and some postgraduate courses use drawing, descriptive or subject-based questions instead of the common paper.
JET is not one fixed paperThe name JET is used for several course-wise admission tests. A paper pattern taken from one course cannot be applied to every applicant. The course name on the application and hall ticket decides the correct pattern.
JET 2027 Exam Dates
JET 2027 exam dates have not been announced. The 2026 dates below give a tentative idea of when the tests may be held. They are not confirmed dates for 2027.

BTech and other PG tests were held around late April and early May in 2026. The 2027 schedule may follow a similar period, but the final dates will depend on the course-wise announcement.
JET 2027 Courses and Selection Process
The written test is only one part of admission for many courses. The university may add a personal interview, extempore, pick-and-speak, drawing test or portfolio review. The final steps depend on the programme.

For MBA admission, MAT 550 or above, NMAT 160 or above, GMAT 475 or above, or 50 percentile and above in CAT, CMAT or XAT can remove the JET written-test requirement. The applicant still has to take the extempore and personal interview.
MBA score exemption does not complete admissionAn accepted CAT, MAT, CMAT, NMAT, XAT or GMAT score replaces only the written test. Extempore and personal interview remain part of the MBA selection.
JET 2027 Eligibility Criteria
JET eligibility depends on the programme. A general UG or PG rule may not cover the subject requirements for BTech, design, science or another specialised course.
JET UG Eligibility
Applicants need to pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board. Science, Commerce and Arts students can apply for the programmes that accept their subject background. The exact subjects and minimum marks depend on the chosen course.
JET BTech Eligibility
BTech applicants need at least 45% in Class 12 or an equivalent examination. The minimum is 40% for SC and ST candidates. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory, along with Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science or Biology. Students waiting for their Class 12 result can also apply.
NIOS students are eligible. Cambridge students need three A-level subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. IB applicants need at least 26 credits.
JET PG and MBA Eligibility
PG applicants need a three-year bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks. SC and ST candidates need at least 45%. Final-year students can apply, but admission depends on completing the degree and meeting the course rules.
MBA applicants need at least 50% in the bachelor's degree. The accepted management entrance score decides whether the JET written test can be skipped; it does not change the degree requirement.
JET 2027 Application Form
The JET 2027 form is available online. Applicants first select the level and programme, then enter personal, academic and contact details. A recent photograph and the required academic records are uploaded before the fee is paid.

The BTech application fee shown for general candidates is INR 600, including GST. The fee can differ for another programme, so the amount displayed in the chosen application form is the amount that applies.
JET 2027 Exam Pattern
The paper pattern changes with the programme. The 2027 MBA pattern is available. For BTech, UG and other PG courses, the latest available course-wise pattern is from 2026 and gives the current reference until the new details are announced.

JET BTech Exam Pattern
The 2026 BTech paper had 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks. The test time was 150 minutes. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English had 30 questions each. Aptitude and Logical Reasoning had 15 questions each. All questions were compulsory and there was no negative marking.

JET UG Exam Pattern
The common 2026 paper used for several BCom, BBA, BMS, BCA and BSc programmes had 100 questions for 100 marks and a two-hour test time. Reading Comprehension, subject-based questions and Basic Mathematics had 20 questions each. General Knowledge and Current Affairs had 40 questions. There was no negative marking.
This common pattern does not cover every UG programme. Design and fine arts papers include drawing or course-based work, while some courses change the subject section. Applicants need to use the pattern shown for the programme selected in the form.
JET PG Exam Pattern
Many PG papers in 2026 had 100 marks and a two-hour test time, but the sections changed by subject. A common paper included Reading Comprehension, subject-based questions, Basic Mathematics and General Knowledge with Current Affairs. MA English had a 110-mark paper with separate literature and language sections. Some courses used descriptive questions.
This difference matters because the programme subject can carry a large part of the paper. A general PG pattern should not be used in place of the exact course pattern.
JET MBA Exam Pattern
The MBA paper has 120 multiple-choice questions for 120 marks and a two-hour test time. Reading Comprehension has 20 questions. Data Analysis, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment have 25 questions each. All questions are compulsory and there is no negative marking.

JET 2027 Syllabus
The syllabus follows the paper chosen for the course. BTech includes Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the Class 11 and Class 12 level, along with Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and English. Mathematics covers algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry, vectors, trigonometry and matrices. Logical Reasoning includes series, coding, arrangements, puzzles, data sufficiency and decision-making.
The common UG paper focuses on reading, the relevant course subject, basic mathematics and current affairs. Common PG papers add degree-level subject questions. MBA uses reading comprehension, data analysis, mathematics, reasoning and business-related awareness through the Indian and Global Environment section.
The subject section changes with the courseA BCA, BCom, MA English and MBA applicant may all take JET, but their subject questions are different. Preparation needs to follow the selected programme's paper, not a general JET topic list.
JET 2027 Online Test Rules
Recent UG and PG written tests were held as online proctored assessments. The test had to be taken on a desktop or laptop with a working webcam and microphone. The camera and microphone had to remain on while the test was in progress.
The stated minimum internet speed was 2 Mbps. Chrome was the supported browser. The monitoring system could end the test if the candidate moved away from the test window or did not follow the online test rules. The 2027 hall ticket will confirm whether the same system is used for the chosen programme.
JET 2027 Admit Card
The JET 2027 admit card will be issued after the application and test schedule are confirmed. It will carry the candidate's name, programme, date, time and test instructions. For a course with an interview or extempore, the selection communication may also include the next round's reporting details.
BTech slot booking opened seven days before the scheduled test dates in 2026. Applicants could choose an available date and slot before downloading the test details. The 2027 process will be clear when the new schedule is released.
JET 2027 Result and Counselling
The result is released after the course-wise test and selection rounds. A written-test score does not by itself confirm admission when an interview, extempore, drawing test or counselling round is part of the course process.
BTech applicants who qualify through JET or an accepted entrance score take part in counselling. The branch and seat depend on the rank or accepted score, eligibility, choices and available seats. A provisional offer becomes final only after document checks and fee payment within the given time.
MBA selection considers the extempore and personal interview. The interview checks subject knowledge, goals, communication, academic record, work experience and achievements. The written-test exemption does not remove these rounds.
