MAH MCA CET Eligibility

The latest eligibility rule accepted an Indian national with a graduation degree such as BE/BTech, BSc, BCom, BVoc or BCA, preferably with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level. The qualifying-exam requirement was 50%. It was relaxed to 45% for the specified Reserved, EWS and PwD categories belonging to Maharashtra. Final-year graduation students could also take the test.

Mathematics needs a careful reading. The eligibility sentence uses “preferably with Mathematics”; it does not say that every graduate without Mathematics is automatically barred from the entrance test. The later CAP or admitting-university rules can still matter for the seat, so exam eligibility and final admission should be checked separately.

How Are Graduation Marks Counted?

Aggregate means the grand total in the subjects the university uses to declare the class. If the transcript has grades or CGPA, the conversion must follow the method certified by that university or institution. The resulting percentage is rounded to two decimal places. This becomes important near the 50% or 45% boundary; a self-made conversion formula can produce a different result from the university certificate.

CET Eligibility and MCA Admission Are Two Checks

For the 2025-26 CAP, Maharashtra, All India and J&K/Ladakh migrant candidates needed the qualifying degree and a non-zero MAH MCA CET score. NRI, OCI, PIO, children of Indian workers in Gulf countries and foreign-national routes were listed separately. Their graduation threshold was 50%, while the same CET-score clause was not written into that route. These are historical CAP conditions; the 2027 admission brochure will decide the routes for its own cycle.

MAH MCA CET Application Form and Fee

The latest form was completed online through the CET portal. Candidates entered personal and qualification details, uploaded a photograph and signature, and paid the fee online. Aadhaar and APAAR details were part of registration, making name and date-of-birth mismatches worth fixing before the form was submitted.

Payment was online and the processing fee was non-refundable and non-transferable. Category concessions required the matching certificates during CAP. A paid CET form did not register the candidate for MCA admission; CAP used its own application and document scrutiny after the result.

MAH MCA CET Exam Pattern

The latest paper had 100 four-option MCQs for 200 marks in an online English test. Mathematics and Reasoning together carried 120 marks, while English and Computer Concepts carried 80.

The paper used one 90-minute composite timer, not four sectional clocks. A correct response earned two marks, while a wrong or unanswered response earned zero; there was no negative marking. Candidates could move to any question within the 90 minutes.

MAH MCA CET Syllabus

The syllabus has four sections. Only section-wise question counts are fixed; the CET Cell does not give chapter-wise weightage, so claims such as a guaranteed number of Algebra or C-programming questions are not official.

Mathematics and Statistics

Algebra includes operations, factorisation, quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, progressions, binomial theorem, permutations and combinations. Coordinate Geometry covers lines, circles, distance, pairs of straight lines, conics and basic transformations. The rest of the scope includes first-order and linear Differential Equations, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, set theory, functions, Arithmetic and mensuration.

Logical and Abstract Reasoning

Logical and Abstract Reasoning tests how a candidate handles facts or situations given in a passage, recognises relationships and reaches a conclusion. The official description focuses on clear, quick thinking and problem-solving; it does not assign fixed chapter weightage to puzzles, series or arrangements.

English Comprehension and Verbal Ability

The English section covers basic grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, words and phrases, and jumbled paragraphs. Its 20 questions are part of the same 90-minute timer as the other sections.

Computer Concepts

The Computer Concepts syllabus starts with CPU, input/output devices, memory and storage. It moves through data representation, binary and hexadecimal arithmetic, Boolean algebra and truth tables, computer architecture, processor and I/O communication, interrupts, data structures, high-level languages, C programming and operating system basics.

How to Prepare for MAH MCA CET

A useful mock review needs more than the total marks. Record correct, wrong and unattempted questions separately for all four sections. Mathematics and Reasoning together account for 120 marks, but a student who spends the whole paper on them can leave 80 marks in English and Computer Concepts untouched.

• First full mock: measure natural section time and do not force a preset split.
• Second review: find the section with the lowest correct-answer rate, not merely the lowest raw score.
• Next study block: revise one named topic family, then solve a short timed set from that family.
• Next full mock: compare attempts, accuracy and unattempted questions with the previous paper. Because wrong answers carry zero rather than a penalty, the final minutes can be used on unanswered questions after eliminating options.

Admit Card, Exam Day and Answer Key

In 2026, the hall ticket was downloaded with the registration or roll number and password or date of birth. The candidate had to affix a recent recognisable photograph and carry the printed hall ticket with an original valid photo ID. The name on both documents had to match; a legal name change required the original supporting record such as a marriage certificate or affidavit.

Candidates selected preferred test cities, but the Cell retained the right to allot another centre and did not entertain requests to change the centre, venue, date or session. Mobile phones, smart watches, headphones and similar electronic devices were prohibited in the examination hall.

The 2026 response-sheet and answer-key window ran from 30 April to 2 May, with a fee of Rs 1,000 per objection. The later redressal notice recorded five valid unique objections. Some official answers changed; for a few session-specific questions, two marks were awarded to all candidates. A raw score calculated before redressal can therefore differ from the score used for the result.

MAH MCA CET Result, Raw Score and Percentile

Raw marks come directly from correct answers: two marks for each correct response and no deduction for a wrong response. Percentile is different. It describes a candidate's position within a session rather than the percentage of marks scored.

The normalization method counts the percentage of candidates in the same session who scored equal to or below a candidate's raw score, and reports the result to seven decimal places. Since the session score distribution changes, one raw score cannot be assigned a permanent percentile across years or shifts. The raw-score calculator therefore stops at marks, attempts and accuracy instead of estimating a percentile.

Result and MCA CAP Are Separate Stages

The CET result stage ends with the scorecard in candidate login. The official 2026-27 admission directory then sent MCA applicants to a separate CAP registration portal. CAP checks the candidate's admission claim, builds merit, accepts institute and course preferences, publishes allotment and requires seat acceptance and institute reporting.

1. Register for CAP: enter the admission details and upload the requested documents.
2. Complete scrutiny: resolve any mismatch in marks, identity, domicile or category evidence within the notified window.
3. Read the merit and seat data: merit position is not the same thing as a college allotment.
4. Fill the option form: arrange college and course choices in the order the student genuinely prefers.
5. Act on allotment: follow the acceptance, payment and institute-reporting instruction for that round.

MAH MCA CET CAP and Reservation

CAP seat rules depend on candidature, institute type and category. The percentages below come from the 2025-26 technical-education admission brochure and show how that completed admission system was built. They are not a 2027 seat matrix.

Reservation Used in 2025-26 CAP

*The SEBC 10% provision was subject to court decisions. The same brochure also provided 5% Defence, 5% PwD, 10% EWS, 1% Orphan and 30% Female provisions in their stated scopes. These include horizontal or supernumerary rules and must not be added to the vertical category table as one new total.

A useful cutoff comparison needs the year, institute, course, category, seat type and CAP round. A single number without those fields can describe a different candidate pool. Compare the closing data only after matching the candidate's category and seat type. A Home University closing figure, an All India seat and an institute-level vacancy describe different admission routes even when the college and course are the same.
