What Is UPESPAT?

UPESPAT is the UPES Pharmacy Aptitude Test for admission to the four-year B.Pharm programme at UPES, Dehradun. The course is offered by its School of Health Sciences and Technology and runs across eight semesters.

The test is different from UPESEAT, which is used for engineering admission, and UPESDAT, which is used for design. For pharmacy, choose B.Pharm in the application and follow the UPESPAT or applicable alternative-route instructions. A result in another UPES entrance test should not be treated as a pharmacy admission offer.

UPESPAT 2027 Registration and Exam Dates

The 2027 exam dates, application deadline and result date have not been announced. The application form is open for academic year 2027. Complete the application through the UPES admission portal and retain the confirmation for later test and admission messages.

Check the email address and mobile number before proceeding. The application form states that contact details cannot be changed, and these details are used for examination communication. Do not use a temporary number or an email account you cannot access.

Review the application fee before paying and save the receipt with the application number. If the payment succeeds but the application status does not update, give both references to the admission support team.

UPESPAT Eligibility: PCM and PCB Students

Both PCM and PCB students can meet the subject requirement. Physics and Chemistry are common, while Mathematics or Biology supplies the third science subject. English is also required as a major Class XII subject.

Are Class X and Class XII Marks Checked Separately?

Yes. Each class has a 50% minimum. A student with 70% in Class XII but 48% in Class X does not meet the published Class X condition. Higher marks in one class do not compensate for a shortfall in the other.

How Does the PCM/PCB Aggregate Apply?

For the non-exam route, UPES separately asks for at least 50% aggregate in PCM/PCB. If Physics, Chemistry and the chosen Mathematics/Biology subject are each marked out of 100, a total of 150 out of 300 is 50%. With different maximum marks, divide the combined marks obtained by the combined maximum marks and multiply by 100.

This subject-group calculation does not replace the overall Class X and XII requirements. It also does not establish a board-merit exemption by itself; the exemption threshold is a separate admission condition.

Admission Through JEE Main, NEET, CUET or Board Merit

For 2027-28, UPES has not announced the qualifying percentiles for the national examinations or the board-merit exemption threshold. Meeting the basic academic criteria lets you be considered for the route; it does not guarantee exemption or a seat.

NEET is an alternative route, not a compulsory additional exam for every UPESPAT applicant. CUET-UG is another listed route. Use the score from the year specified in the admission notice and provide it through the process communicated by UPES.

If you have more than one qualifying score, keep the individual scorecards available. Do not convert a percentile into a percentage of marks or combine scores from different examinations. UPES must assess the applicable route against its own admission requirement.

UPESPAT Exam Pattern

Duration: two hours. Mode: online. Mathematics/Biology occupies one 35-question section, not two separate 35-question sections added to the paper. Confirm the applicable subject option in the examination instructions for your application.

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology together make up 105 of the 125 questions. English Language Comprehension accounts for the other 20. The percentage column describes question distribution, not chapter-wise weightage or an official marks allocation.

Marking Scheme

The 2026 candidate guide specified no negative marking. The current 2027 admission notice confirms the question counts and duration but does not state the marks awarded per correct answer. A maximum-marks figure or score-to-percentile formula should therefore not be inferred from the 125-question count.

For timed practice, 120 minutes divided by 125 questions gives about 58 seconds per question. This is an average across the paper, not a limit imposed on each question. Short comprehension or recall items may leave more time for a calculation.

UPESPAT Syllabus and Preparation

The announced paper covers Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English Language Comprehension. UPES has not supplied a chapter-wise 2027 weightage table in the admission notice. Start with your school-level subject knowledge and use the following practice areas to organise revision:

Physics and Chemistry

Practise questions that require both a concept and a short calculation. Write the unit next to the result in Physics. In Chemistry, separate errors in calculations from errors in reactions or concepts, so that the next revision session addresses the actual weakness.

Mathematics or Biology

A Mathematics student should practise completing calculations accurately under time pressure. For Biology, use diagrams and short explanations of processes rather than remembering terms without their relationship. Prepare the option applicable to your test; do not assume that attempting both subjects doubles the available marks.

English Language Comprehension

For passage questions, locate the sentence or relationship supporting the answer. Distinguish what the passage states from an assumption based on outside knowledge. With 20 questions in this section, omitting English from practice leaves a defined part of the test uncovered.

Build a full rehearsal with 35 Physics, 35 Chemistry, 35 Mathematics/Biology and 20 English questions in 120 minutes. Record unfinished questions as well as wrong ones. The goal is to identify whether the problem was subject knowledge, calculation, reading or time spent on one item. These are preparation suggestions, not a claim that UPESPAT uses an identical chapter list to JEE Main or NEET.

UPESPAT Exam Login and Passkey

The examination login window is 10 am to 2 pm. You can start within that window, and your two-hour timer begins at login. The window is not four hours of answering time. Follow the exam date and access instructions sent for your application.

The actual passkey is sent one day before the exam to the registered email address and mobile number. It is different from a demo-test passkey. Keep your application number, date of birth and passkey together when preparing to log in.

Device and Identity Checks

The 2026 online-test guide used a government photo ID, face capture and access to the camera and microphone. It required the assessment to stay in full-screen mode and warned against switching windows. Prepare a laptop or desktop with a clear camera view and working audio, then follow the current assessment instructions.

The guide warned against refreshing or closing the browser during a submission failure. If that happens, use the on-screen recovery instructions and contact support with your application number and the error shown. An error screen is not proof of successful submission.

UPESPAT Result and Admission Offer

UPES communicates the next admission steps through the registered contact details. Keep the application number and relevant national-exam scorecard available if you applied through a non-exam route. The admission decision must match the programme and route used in your application.

When an offer is issued, read the programme name, conditions, acceptance amount and expiry date before paying. Completing the entrance test or submitting a national score is not the same as accepting an offer. Save the offer and payment confirmation together.

Prepare these records for admission, then follow the document list attached to the actual offer. The applicable deadlines and fee amounts should come from that offer, not from an older admission schedule.

B.Pharm at UPES: Course and Fees

The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a degree in the study of medicines. At UPES, it lasts four years across eight semesters. Its four core study areas are:

These are degree subjects, not extra sections in the UPESPAT entrance paper. The course includes practical learning as well as theory; a student comparing pharmacy with a general science degree should look at the actual laboratory and course requirements.

The 2027-28 tuition fees have not been published. When the programme fee schedule is issued, separate semester tuition from one-time charges and accommodation. The application payment and offer-acceptance payment should not be assumed to cover the entire degree.
