BITS Design School BDes Admission 2027 Open: Apply by January 31
BITS Design School has opened applications for its four-year Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme for the 2027 intake. The form opened on October 15, 2026. Students can apply online until January 31, 2027. The school has said that only one application round will be held.

Who can apply for the BITS Design School BDes?
Students who have passed Class 12 or are appearing for it can apply. The qualification must be from a recognised board, with at least 45% marks. Students from any stream can apply.
Applicants should have taken, or be registered for, at least one of these design tests: BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT), IIT Bombay Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED), or National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) Prelims.
Selection process
After the form deadline, eligible applicants can upload their BITSDAT, UCEED or NID DAT Prelims score in the April 6 to 10 window. Fresh applications will not be accepted during this score-upload period. The school plans to announce the shortlist on April 14.
Shortlisted students will upload a portfolio between April 14 and April 22 and attend an online interview between May 4 and May 15. The school says it looks for an interest in design, creative thinking, problem-solving and clear communication.
Fees and application fee
The application fee is Rs. 2,500. The official page lists the first-year tuition fee as Rs. 7,70,000 and the residential fee as Rs. 2,27,000, making the first-year total Rs. 9,97,000. A one-time admission fee of Rs. 40,000 and security deposit of Rs. 20,000 are payable when a student accepts the offer.
The school says fees may rise by up to 8% each year. Meals, laundry, books and other learning material are not included in the residential or tuition figures.
